Nintendo will never sell Wii U without Gamepad. You need to give up people. Is not going to happen

I'm not against the Wii U Gamepad. Infact, it's my 2nd favorite controller (nothing can beat the good ol' GameCube Controller). But IMO, if the Wii U is still being sold at a loss, this can be a cheaper alternative with a more attractive price point for more people and  can create profits for Nintendo. The GamePad can be sold seperately at retail with a rather limited supply and cost $80. Not a probable or necessary move I know, but this may lead to more sales and more profits in thoery at least.

The OS was built around Gamepad. There is no way it can be sold seperately.

EDIT: I mean sell a Wii U without gamepad

$50 price cut aint doing jack.

Its interesting how people continue to suggest that Nintendo will/should get rid of the gamepad on the wiiU but what people don't understand is that the gamepad provides a baseline for all games that gets developed on the wiiU.

For example, if a developer wants to make a game for the wiiU, he will have the option of integrating the gamepad into his/her game in some way knowing full well that if he integrates his game with the gamepad, EVERYONE will be able to get that experience vs if Nintendo made the gamepad optional, he wouldn't know how many people will even have a gamepad and in tern wouldn't bother cause its increased development costs for potential little gain and potential compatibility issues...

Its almost like that lack of a dual circle pad case for the 3ds and people kept on saying Nintendo is gonna release a revised 3ds with a second analog but they didn't because the games that would use dual circle pads would make the single circle pad 3ds completely useless and incompatible

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

They need a Wii U that comes with 250GB internal hard drive. And they need achievements. After that sales will go up.

I do not think so. Why? because the Wii U 8gb model was selling for 200$ and people still did not buy it.

3rd party support is pretty much gone already. Leaving Nintendo to push the console alone, which mean's game drought's, because there is no 3rd party games in between. I think Ubisoft, Capcom and Cod are the only ones left.

They still have not proved it is next gen and they still have not shown why the gamepad is "cool" or a selling point.  Maybe at 150$ but i doubt nintendo would go that low.

was this thread necessary? If you just read all the old threads I am 100000% sure you would have gotten the answer you are looking for already.

For the people that say Nintendo would never get rid of the gamepad, did u think they would ever release a 3DS sku without 3D or a Wii sku that didnt support wifi?

The Wii U is upgradable via updates and can change the OS. I don't really like the idea of a Wii U with no Gamepad, but not against it. ps, i am typing this on the Gamepad.

The $200 price was at select retailers for small amounts of time. Thats alot different than a worldwide permanent price cut.
