Forums - General - convince me that marijuana should be legal.

Sounds like prejudice to me.

@NYCrysis and @NobleTeam360 bring up great points, as well. I didn't even bring up the War on Drugs or the multinational pharmaceutical topics in my post in order to keep it concise, but they are just as strong of reasons as anything in my original post.

How much money has been wasted in the War on Drugs? Every penny of that could have been spent on infrastructure, or better yet, giving people some of their money back.

And how many people have literally DIED from legal prescription drugs? How many of those drugs have been taken off the market because they were severely harming and/or killing people? Marijuana doesn't injure or kill people.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

I think it's more like, most people who smoke it do not end up in trouble (like most drugs actually) the problem is the whole anglo culture around it, being taboo makes it harder to educate people about proper use of it, just saying don't do it is both stupid and irrealist, you should not expect to control everybody's behaviour with drugs.

Plus putting people in prison for getting high cost a lot of money, it also is not applied in the same manner to everyone.

Baiscally, most pot smokers do it in a manner that is completely transparent to anyone who is not there to witness it, like most illegal drugs, it's much less thangerous than alcool.

Also, I had some surgeries, the meds the docs prescribe you after it to control the pain have horrendous side effects, last time I just got some Mari instead, I felt better and did not risk getting addicted to it AND it was cheaper, despite not being covered.

Calling it "bad" is judgemental and causes way more harm than trying to make sense of it and making sure education around it is sensible, there is no need to be drastic about these things, people who have consumption problem should definitely get help, but that's a medical problem, not a legal problem.

OP, you need to do more research on the medical properties of the drug you are lambasting. Sure it has side effects, all drugs do, those aren't guaranteed effects and there has been success in creating strains that perform differently. THC is a highly effective mood and hunger elevator for chemo therapy patients, it's pretty common knowledge now, and I know first hand watching my brother go through treatment. The artificial drug they allow right now was the only good thing they ever gave him in the hospital. Providing him access to the actual drug would have been far better for him. This is just one example but there are numerous uses for THC.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Alcohol and Tobacco don't bring any benefits either, and they are legal and more harmful to your body than cannabis.

I guess it should be legal, and is your responsibility to use it with moderation.

It can generate a lot of money. That's really the only argument needed. Not to mention most of your arguments are opinionated, false, or irrelevant.

I haven't smoked weed in maybe 15 years, but I don't see any problem with it being legal.

Eating chips also has no benefit at all, but I bet you eat it sometimes and that isn't healthy either. People use alcohol and marihuana for the same reasons. However, Why aren't you saying the same thing about alcohol? Alcohol destroys more than marihuana can ever do. Not only in your body, but also around you. It also destroys lifes by addicted people and accidents with cars etc.

because most of the reasons in your OP are bullshit.

because the money in illegal drugs fund all sorts of far worse things like terrorism and gang activity.

because imprisoning someone for marijuana is a waste of money and resources.

because why the fuck do you care!?! are you pissed off i'm addicted to caffeine? ...people are going to use vices. you will NEVER stop that. far better to create a safe environment for people to use their vices than to criminalize your population.

And thats another point, weed is not addicting!!! Almost everyone I know can and have stopped whenever they want to. I haven't smoked weed for about a month and have yet had the urge to smoke. Hell sometimes ive actually gotten bored of smoking haha.

Tagging so i can post when i get home. Been a medical user for over 10 years

and NYCrysis, It can be addictive(anything can be), its just a hell of alot harder to then most substances, and the physical and psychological effects of the addiction pail in comparison to pretty much everything else. its pretty much reduced appetite, head aches, trouble sleeping and such.
