Forums - Nintendo - The 3DS XL isn't selling!? (Limited edition)

For awhile now the Mario and Luigi 3DS bundle has been on sale at various places for less than stand alone 3DS XL's with no game.

Meanwhile the Zelda bundle....

Now I can understand why people prefer the Zelda 3DS (Goty  amiright) but to spend 20-40 more (and at my Walmart the Luigi bundle is 150) for a plain 3DS with no game is absurd. Why is this particularly amazing looking 3DS with a great game being treated like it belongs in the bargain bin.

2 words: Holiday Burnout

Those ML bundles were flying off the shelves in Target (hell, the three I went to around Miami during that $150 sale had 3-6 on display and there were families that took them all right before my eyes) during December. The Zelda bundle, for obvious reasons, were nowhere to be seen.

I think family members are too busy restructuring their finances than buying even MORE handhelds for the time being.

Also, on a personal note, sales like $10 off something nearing $200 or 3 cents is immensely pointless.

At my local Walmart I see barely any 3DS systems just a Pink 3DS and a whole bunch of 2DS systems. (the 3DS is still on fire!)

Well i just bought the Zelda Limited Edition, could not pass up on that sexy gold, plus at the moment you get mario for free as well so it was like getting 2 games and the console for the price.

3DS is doomed now?

LOL. Apparently.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Why buy now? All these bundles had good discounted prices during the last two months. Anyone who was interested has already picked one up. The next two months are going to be slow. Just random impulse buys.

Equality for everyone!

What can you do. It's a Nintendo.

Funny to think that what it sold to date were once considered very optimistic lifetime projections.
