Forums - Gaming Discussion - Can Titanfall be THE GAME That Pushes Xbox One Above PS4 in America?

Will it boost sales yes but Sony has more exclusives coming out this year and going forward. This is assuming titanfall is even good. I know it is early but Sony look's like there going to dominate this gen.

Not sure if Titanfall can top all these games, Drive club,Infamous, The order 1886, Planet side 2, Mlb the show 14,  Deep Down and what ever Ps+ games they give out and the f2p games coming.    Ps4 just has more to offer and at a better price.

it is nice to know that Xbox One is the only system able to get a price cut...

of course you say that they could cut it down quicker than sony by not selling kinect with it, but it rally seems they are too stubborn..

as for titanfall.. i dont get it.. it looks polished and all, but i dont get why some people are touting it like a revolutionary thing for first person shooters... and even if it would. people in europe wouldnt be swayed much since most them have a capable PC and/or x360 on hand.

No, because it's not only out on Xbox One no matter how much MS advertise it as. More people can afford $60 over $560 (in the presumption they already own a PC or 360). It will over take it during it's release weeks but won't hold PS4 off in the long run, the game will sell a lot though, it might have sold more games and consoles if it was only on Xbone mind you.

I actually do wonder, outside of our little world or the slightly bigger gaming community (those who buy a new gen console early as in that community), how many consumers really know what Titanfall is? Call of Duty became big because of people telling each other or questionable content emphasised by the media, it didn't just sell 14 million, the series before CoD4 didn't.

Hmm, pie.

What has steam got to do with it. This is an EA/Origin game. very slim chance of it being on steam besides which steam usually releases major games at retail prices, you can normally buy cheaper in physical stores at release time.

I think X1 already leads in the US, but we won´t know until official figures come out. Titanfall and Halo will help cement its lead though.

Its not certain that the Xbox One will rule America. its certain that America will be the staple point of their success. I will agree on that point. Sony has sold well above Microsofts numbers in America before. Titanfall is one game and its coming out during the time period that the PS4 and Xbone have their lowest sized audience. By the time they have a decent amount of people gaming (20 M) the PS4 will have Titanfall 2 on it. Do not depend on Titanfall. Microsoft needs to focus on what is truly exclusive to their brand and work on that. If you depend upon others creation when exclusivity isnt certain, do not expect stable results throughout, but rather fluxtuating ones.

Before you make assumptions like you are now, remember that the PS4 and Xbox One essentially serve the same function. Sony has them on number of successful first and second party franchise exclusives (from last generation) and to top it off the console is more powerful while being cheaper. You cannot find a PS4 properly in America because of that. The PS4 on a worldwide level is bigger than the Xbox. You should be asking yourself, "How much marketshare will Microsoft lose to Sony if the third party gaming crowd choose PS4 this gen?" That is the burning question, my friend.

Will help, but probably not enough to push it above ps4..

PS4 doesn't have more exclusives though. Since you can name PC/console exclusive games so can I: Titanfall, Project Spark, Quantum Break, KS: Rivals, Sunset Overdrive, Black Tusk's game, Fable Legends, Halo. Xbox 2014 is looking strong
