yahoo is doome, not nintendo^^

and tere are not retail ps4 games people want... ps4 will not sell much software till there are some decent games in stores. they give u good games for free, that enough if u are not a hardcore gamer who need 1 game a week...

We get it, people. 3D World didn't flop, and Knack did. Might as well say that PS4 is the #1 selling console of all time and pretend everyone anti-Sony doesn't know it.

Damn is time to stop harrasing nintendo fanboys, the last thing we want is mass suicides. On topic everyone who reported knack outselling mario wanted hits and as we can see and saw it obviously worked, now all the fanboys will go back to those written aricles and tell them how wrong they were, again giving them hits LMAO. You fell for it fools.

Dude, it's Nack! It's not a great game. Nack outselling SM3DW is newsworthy because Nack is pants. SM3DW outselling Nack is just NORMAL.

My 8th gen collection

Knack outselling one of the greatest vide game franchises of all time, even so for a couple of weeks in the UK, is a sensation that the press has every right to write about. They would not be doing their job if they didn't report such a sensation.
However, the way much of the main stream media reported this sensation, was awful journalism without any kind of analasys behind it. Calling Super Mario 3D World a flop based on sales of another game in a small portion of the overall market, is nothing more than a testimony of how bad the main stream media really is when it comes to analysing the game industry.
Would we see the same kind of bad journalism for a different industry? Probably not.

With that said, I still think it was right to report about this sensation. But in doing so, they should have asked market experts about this as well. By doing some digging, and not too deep, they could have easily found out about the scenario we see now, with Knack dropping and Mario having long and strong legs.

Mario is bundled as well in the UK. So that is no excuse. PS4 also has more varied bundles, to my knowledge, and thus less people (relatively) would pick Knack.

Your last sentences can be easily countered. We already get official rankings from the UK so I KNOW Knack isn't undertracked there. However, VGC seem to think that it's doing much better in the UK than the rest of the world, despite being in bundles everywhere...hence my belief.

It's not cognitive dissonance, it's just you misinterpreting what you read.

Mario is bundled in the UK, but UK gamers can choose whether to buy the bundle with 3D World or one of the other bundles, because none of them are sold out. They don't have to buy whichever one they can get their hands on. And the Wii U sold about 9k units in the last week of data we have, while the PS4 sold 50k units. On that basis alone, bundling would not be able to cause 3D World to sell significantly better.

Knack sold about 8.5k copies in the UK in the most recent week of data - so the only way 3D World would overcome that on the basis of bundling would be if 3D World were bundled with every Wii U. Indeed, as it turns out, Super Mario 3D World sold about 10k in that same week - meaning, it's not selling because of bundling, as Knack is, since more copies of 3D World have sold than Wii U units in the same week.

Based on UK VGChartz numbers, Knack is selling to one in 8.6 PS4 buyers in the UK. In the US, the figure for the same week is one in 13.3. In Germany, it's one in 4.5. So what could make this sort of difference? Probably the balance of bundles - more of the PS4 bundles made available (as in, total number of consoles of each bundle, not number of distinct bundles) contain Knack in Germany, and less in the US. Or do you think they're overtracking Knack in Germany?

And yes, it's cognitive dissonance. You believe that Knack being bundled is proof that it's being undertracked in the US, etc, based on the fact that it must be selling to people who want the PS4, even if they didn't actually want Knack, since all the bundles are always sold out... but that Knack is selling better than 3D World in the UK because people don't want 3D World, rather than that those buying a PS4 have to get Knack with it, even if they don't want it.

You use bundling as justification for why it's undertracked, but simultaneously dismiss it as a reason for it selling better than 3D World in the UK. This is cognitive dissonance - you think bundling is of key importance, and simultaneously that it's irrelevant.

How Nintendo fans are melting over this trolling is sad. You're only going to make it worse.

Also, I don't understnad the author would trash the 3rd largest market in the world. While the UK isn't as large as Japan, they're definitely significant.

I see where you are coming from... it's a classic lose-lose situation:

If you defend yourself when someone puts a finger or 2 in  your *ss, you're a whining little pussy.

If you let someone puts a finger or 2 in  your *ss without complaint, you're a f*ckin' f*ggot (with a line going round the block of "hardlycore" gamers readying fingers, fists, feet & whatever to stick it in your *ss, until you complain like a "whining little pussy".

... classic lose-lose again...

What is really sad to begin with is the trolling!

WOW Triple digits !!!! its literally selling hundreds of copies lol

It would've been more impressive if they told us how many average copies it was selling an hour.

3D World sold roughly 37 copies every minute for 22 days straight.

That's the 8th gen spirit!

Lol, yeah yeah! I'll even go a step further, Knack sold about 8 per minute. That means 3D World sold more than 5X what Knack sold. (Given an entire month for 3D World at the same rate.)
