Forums - Nintendo - seriously am i the only person who does not care about the art style

It doesn't make or break a game for me but a games art style can play a roll in my overall enjoyment of the game. The paper style of Paper Mario is a key reason why I favor it over Mario & Luigi. (Though there are many others)

No, your not the only one but there's are a lot of people who care about art style. Hence why wind waker sold less than OoT.

Are you saying that's the only reason why Wind Waker sold less? I'm not usually one to take the side of chaos theorists, but that's quite the implication you're making.

There are other reasons as to why wind waker sold less such as focusing on worthless puzzles that nobody likes but that goes along with the iffy art style.

Okay. Personally, I try not to pretend that I can read the minds of consumers.

but that is still a silly reason to not buy a game just as bad as no white hair dante in DmC (yes i know there other reasons why people hated DmC other then that)

It's not really silly when you think about it. The bright colourful cartoon style of wind waker ruined a lot of the more serious aspects of the game. I sure as hell ain't buying a realistic version of borderlands because it doesn't fit the games more humorous tone. Art style really does have an impact when you start thinking about how appropriate it is for a games setting and tone.

I'm fairly certain the people would get pissed over a cartoony version god of war and Halo.

while i see your point and can agree to some extent i would say it mostly though has to come down the writing of the moment like a i would be fine with a realistic looking borderlands if it kept just about everything i liked about the series it just various from person to person i assume

I'm pretty sure that rol acknowledges that puzzles are a problem in the zelda series. I don't remember anybody liking the water temple.

It's not that hard to read the minds of a consumer.

You could be right, but I used the plural form.

you are right about the water temple that abomnation single handly was the reason why i never finished ocarina but the key focus on wind waker was the exploration and your boat and the biggest problem people had with wind waker is that the sailing took to long to get from point A to B
