Forums - Nintendo - seriously am i the only person who does not care about the art style

seriously almost every zelda game has been great or at the very least decent Wind Waker is consider by many zelda fans to be a great game infact i know a few people who have it as their favorite zelda game (though kinda of want the wind waker art style for zelda U just to see people get angry over something so small in a game) and this is coming from a guy that loves both wind waker and twilight princess along with majora's mask and ocarina of time

i never played a zelda game othe than OoT. and i didnt play much of it, not a big fan of zelda actually. but i must say i really like the art style of wind waker.

Well... isn't art style one of the key aspects that made wind waker so great? The original still looks good to even this day cause of its art style...

not counting wind waker HD i say graphically the original gamecube wind waker is the best looking zelda title both twilight princess and skyward sword look outdated (espically twilight princess) still looks (along with a decent bit of the gamecubes library)

small thing? what?

I greatly appreciate unique art styles, but it's not a requirement for my enjoyment. And in recent memory, I haven't considered any major game releases to have an ugly or totally unappealing art style (in my eyes).

No, your not the only one but there's are a lot of people who care about art style. Hence why wind waker sold less than OoT.

but that is still a silly reason to not buy a game just as bad as no white hair dante in DmC (yes i know there other reasons why people hated DmC other then that)

Are you saying that's the only reason why Wind Waker sold less? I'm not usually one to take the side of chaos theorists, but that's quite the implication you're making.

It's not really silly when you think about it. The bright colourful cartoon style of wind waker ruined a lot of the more serious aspects of the game. I sure as hell ain't buying a realistic version of borderlands because it doesn't fit the games more humorous tone. Art style really does have an impact when you start thinking about how appropriate it is for a games setting and tone.

I'm fairly certain the people would get pissed over a cartoony version god of war and Halo.
