Forums - Nintendo - Can you throw a Pokeball at Pokemon using Fly, Dig, Bounce, Dive, etc. or will it miss?

I just realized you catch a Rayquaza in the Hoen games and it knows Fly. If you throw a Pokeball at Rayquaza when it flies up into the air, will it miss?

Are you asking about the hoenn games or the kalos ones?

No. The pokeball will fall down and pop open and Rayquaza will fly away.

I never really thought about that. Curious.

I'm not 100% sure but I don't think it works.

Rereading your post it seems you are asking about the hoenn games, in that case the pokebal will trap him and catch to see if is caught

No it wont. The pokeball always goes first, if it misses then the pokemos uses fly, dig or so... If the pokemon used fly/dig/dive the pokeball still works (I believe)

I only said that the pokeball will hit the pokemon even if it is underwater, underground or flying

Yes it works, even when you're throwing it while it's up in the air. Like dig.

Yep.
