People can't afford to get it yet. Wait till people get two jobs, then come again.

I think having 1-6 odd consoles in store, well they could have shipped them/stocked them just as someone walked in. So it's difficult to say about USA right now.
But that image from Germany, that tells a totally different story, thats not a small number that massive. I suspect Europe is going to be hard work for MS until they at least drop the price. Sony just need to keep getting stock out in europe and they might win by a big margin.
I think it's pretty obvious that Sony are going for big amounts of consoles every couple of weeks, while MS seems to be drip feeding them in more often. I guess from a demand point of view, MS are in a better position because they know when to turn the tap off of consoles coming in. Sony might do a big shipment and then it doesn't sell out, then there will be lots of posts saying PS4 doesn't sell. The only worrying thing for MS is that they seemingly are not selling their consoles right now...
NPD is going to be fascinating, because is Sony sell more or the same as MS, then it will definitely show MS sales will drop off further than Sony in the new year.
The new year sales are going to be interesting... I do think MS might see more of a drop off in sales.
Yeah, I don't think there's any sugar coating it anymore. It's a huge underperformer. I don't trust the numbers that MS has been spewing out either. Shipped is not sold through. I think it's hugely ironic that MS is making a documentary about the E.T. cartridge landfill when all these Xbox Ones are threatening to take their place if they don't take action.

I think Sony fanboys are hilarious.
And well, germans can stick to PC gaming...

Well the XBox brand was never very strong in Germany. Playstation is a lot more popular there. But overall despite having the strongest economy in Europe Germany is mostly pirate country and that goes back to the days of the Commodore 64.
Looks exactly the same in Austria since Day1 - Never was sold out.Not on Day1,the day after it and surely not on Christmas cause there a lot of PS4 PreOrder consoles arrived.
Everyone rather waits till they either get their PreOrders of the PS4 or have luck finding one what is pretty unlikely before February.
Demand is completely out of control for the PS4 in central Europe and on the other side the stores can't find people to buy X1s and pictures like these make their round.
This is something that makes me proud of us - Our good taste and our love for quality =)

PC gaming is still very strong in Germany, I think it's way stronger than home consoles.
I'm also a PC + Nintendo gamer since 2002 (since I buy stuff for myself). I had a PSX as a kid.
Playing multiplats on a console doesn't make sense to me.
Building a PC with mods and overclocking is still a popular hobby for teenage boys here.
X360 sold 3 Million units in Germany and PS3 4.3 Million. The gap in the 8th generation will be way bigger I guess.

Well Germany has the stongest ecomony and a biggest population in Europe it should be the #1 market for home consoles sales and software sales but that honor belongs to the UK. Like I said before piracy is very popular in Germany and I know first hand I was born and raised there and lived there until 1988 and pretty much everyone I knew was into priating software even the people that had more then enough money to buy all of their games.

On the flipside, the PC market is a LOT bigger in Germany than the UK. |
Like I said before Germans love to pirate their stuff. Only places in Europe where piracy is more popular then in Germany is probably some eastern European countries where people actually have a reason to do it since they can't afford most of the stuff they pirate.
