Sorry to rain on the parade, but on mine the left analog stick is sometimes slow to engage. It's making certain sections in Zelda HD almost unplayable. Instead of going full throttle he occasionally only shuffles slowly forward when pushing the stick all out.

Other then that it's comfortable enough, although I find that I start playing on the map screen on the gamepad instead of paying attention to the tv for certain games.

The gamepad is a great controller, especially for games that utilize it properly like Arkham City or Resident Evil Revelations. Even playing AC4 I prefer using the gamepad. You can set the hud to the gamepad and have full screen view. And being able to switch weapons or gadgets with a touch screen button is much more simpler than using a d pad.

For Mass Effect 3 they allow you to assign any power or allies power to a touch screen button, making it much easier to use your partners powers. In Splinter Cell Blacklist it's great being able to switch gadgets and weapons instantly with a touch screen button.

And although the gamepad seems a bit big, it's light in weight. For people with big hands like myself it feels perfect to hold. The analogs are very good and even after heavy use they still feel very new. The buttons have a nice feel to them when you press and my only complaint would be the shoulder buttons. It almost feels like I'm not pressing a button or poperly pressing a button when I push L and R down. It felt weird for a while but I got used to it.But all buttons are just as responsive as a regular controller.

I prefer the gamepad over the traditional controller. I like the benefits of a touchscreen and being able to play off screen as well.

it definitely feels more comfortable than it looks! You don't really notice the big size when you are playing (at least I don't).
They will probably offer other ways of control as well, like the Pro controller, which is similar to the XBox controller, both very comfortable.

It's the best feeling controller I've ever felt besides the Gamecube. Pretty good.

At first, using it was awkward due to the unique placement of the analog sticks but then, I adapted and it was fantastic. No analog triggers, though.

And you can turn the screen off by going to the home menu and selecting that option. Not for games that support the screen, though. The Pro Controller feels/functions great, too. I've only held a PS4 controller for like seven seconds in Gamestop and I've never touched an Xbox One controller so I can't really give a good comparison to those. It's right there with the PS3 and 360 controllers, though.
