I wish it were an RPG but social co-op games are all the rage in Japan.

I agree, I'd have much rather seen this as a traditional RPG.  Sony doesn't need Soul Sacrifice and this, and a more traditional game would really help diversify their library.

But if anything, I think this has the potential to do much better than Soul Sac because it's a lot more mainstream.  So it's a tough call really.

It will be interesting to see if the Hunter genre has reached a saturation point in Japan.  In all fairness, God Eater 2, Soul Sacrifice, and Tokiden, all part of Sony's 'Warrior Project' thing, have all done well.

As Freedom Wars is being developed by Shift, who made God Eater, along with Dimps, it should appeal to the same crowd.   http://www.japanator.com/freedom-wars-being-worked-on-by-dimps-and-shift-30496.phtml

Hopefully Studio Japan can team up with a studio that specializes in other genres next, as another Hunter game would just be crazy.  Still, Freedom Wars does look nice.

Also 1 game doesn't save a system.

Tell that to the Wii U crowd.

As part of the Wii U crowd, I can say 1 game won't.

It didn't for the PS3, and it won't for the Wii U.

It will take many games that the general public desires to warrant enough purchases to = saved.

Agreed. Then again, "saved" can mean anything. It can be in terms of sales/profit, quality of life (duration during the generation), quality games, etc.

I'm sure they will be fine (Vita and Wii U) but no doubt, in my honest opinion, they will not be able to keep up with the 3DS and PS$/X1, respectively.

I still think Japan Studio's is the key for Vita.

Demon's Souls Vita? Keep going with the series on Vita.

Legend of Dragoon Vita? Legend of Dragoon 2 on Vita?

Good enough for me (Cannot wait for some Tales games on PS4 that I can remote play on my Vita)

Great ideas.  But instead, Monster Hunter clones for everyone!

Instead of Sony killing off studio's, have them make Vita games.

Monster Hunter (a real one) and Clones are more for Japan...for US:

Get a GTA V Stories game made (Sold well on PSP) and get Type -0 Localized!  Why not just do it on Vita?

It's great for Japan.

But it won't break 1mil units in the West, so regardless of how good it is, it's still a no gaem.
