Upgrading seems so complicated. Especially on an old HDD where I have bunch of stuff installed.

XP always worked well for me. With my new comp I will have to upgrade though. Will I still be able to access all my Steam games even though I use 2 PCs in parallel?

Upgrading is easy.

Or you can buy an Upgrade version.

Yes you can.

There are two ways to use Steam from 2 different machines.
Set one PC's Steam to "Offline mode" or use "Family Sharing".

Ok, but the other people here said I should upgrade to WIndows 8 and ignore the Metro interface.

Will I be able to access my steam games if my old PC keeps Windows XP and the new one gets Windows 8?

Does it matter what type of Win 8 license I buy? (I will prob get the cheapest option that goes with the hardware parts I will order soon)

Windows 8.1 64bit would be fine.

And yes to your Steam games.

I do hope you grabed Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics when it was for free from gog.com. :)
Half Life 2 was free for anyone who had an AMD/ATI GPU for over half a decade too. :P

Here is a list of free Steam games.
http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=851573

And Origin:
https://www.origin.com/en-us/store/shop/free-ANW.html

And uPlay:

And of course, don't forget the free bundle.
http://www.thefreebundle.com/

And Gog.com
http://www.gog.com/games##price=free

Who needs cash to game on a PC? :P

And keep an eye out on Amazon and Green Man Gaming before you bite the bullet on a Steam sale, often they are actually cheaper especially if you use Green Man Gamings 20% discount.

Well, Civ V is on sale again (after the Comunity choice), but this time Gods & Kings and Brave New World are 75 and 66% off, instead of "only" 50%.

Should I pick Gods & Kings?

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Hey, Steam says that Comunity votings are over!

But the sales end tomorrow, the 3rd... I don't understand it.

The last day will probably be an encore with the best deals.

In case it's not and today is the last day I decided to buy Septerra Core just in case.

The last day is usually a recap of the most popular deals. I guess they decided that Community votes didn't fit with that. This will probably be the last flash deal as well.

you can backup your games to disc and install them on a new computer so you dont have to redownload them too
