I'm a "Nintendo Faithful", and I've yet to buy a Wii U for the following reasons:


1) Sequelitis - Even Nintendo's own big games look exactly like games they've made before.

2) AAA Trash - The 3rd party games are the type of games I wanted to avoid all the way through last gen.

3) Price - It's not "very attractive" like Reggie said it would be.

4) SKUs - having to pick between SKUs at launch is something I never expected to deal with regarding a Nintendo System.

5) OS - It was unfinished and it's still unfinished


All that said, I'm getting one soon. But that will predominantly be in order to play all the Kickstarter games I've backed that are coming to it.

I have a Wii U.

I have a Wii U. Fortunately, I didn't pay single ruppee for it (it was a present).
The offerings dissapoints me right now. There's no must have for me.

I have owned:

N64, GC, Wii, GB, GBC, GBA, GBASP, DS, 3DS, & 3DSXL so I guess I count as a faithful?

Anyway, I got all of them within the first 6 months of launch besides for the Wii (8 months) & 3DSXL (11 months)

Wii U has been out for 13 months and I have yet to buy it. Why? The answer is obvious. The lack of appealing games. (For me personally)

If adjusted for inflation, the Wii U isn't much more expensive than the N64 & GC at launch price. So price is a non-factor for me considering I bought the N64 & GC when the were still at launch price.

A few things has changed for me since the N64 / GC days. Firstly, Mario doesn't have nearly as much pull as before. Secondly, I have grown more patient and realized it's better to wait for more games before buying a system. Even though I owned a 3DS early on, I haven't bought many games for it. I waited. By doing so, I created a nice backlog so I won't run out of games to play anytime soon. I want to do this with the Wii U but without having the system first. This way, if a Price Cut happens while I'm waiting, added bonus :)

I got a N64 for Super Mario 64
I got a GC for Luigi's Mansion, Melee, and Pikmin
I got a Wii for Wii Sports, Mario Party 8, and Super Paper Mario
Wii U currently has 3D World & Pikmin 3

I'll probably buy one next year once SSB4 comes out. By then, I'm hoping to have about 5 games I want instead of the 2.

Thats awesome. I think the faithfuls are the ones that drive console sales for said consoles.

Yeah totally.. Wii U is a Nintendo console after all! Therefore, all Nintendo fans everywhere should run out and spend $350 on it without question. Because, you know.. they are Nintendo fans, and Wii U is a Nintendo console! And ALL Nintendo fans always buy all Nintendo consoles!

I'm sure it's been said already but--people buy what they like. I hope nobody goes out and blindly buys a console just because it says "Nintendo" on the front. If/When Nintendo puts out content that appeals to the masses, the masses will buy. If they can't do this then they get what they deserve.
