Forums - Gaming - In the Year 2050, will you still be...

Do you think you'll still be gaming when you're 60-80 years old?

Honestly it probably won't even exist is it does now anymore. Maybe it's still alive as some niche obscure hobby, like collecting dead butterflies.

I'll probably still be gaming on my old legacy consoles by then, which could then be considered ancient. Playing the classics of old. I don't expect to be playing any new games though as I probably would have given up on modern gaming a long time before then.

I don't think so, my reflexes are not very good now then in 35 years they will not work at all. Maybe I will pass out playing some turn based RPG if those are still around.

If all my consoles still work then I can't see why not.

I would like to keep gaming for life. But it may be unrecognisable to what gaming is considered now though

Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

Will play forever, unless it's Kinect 10, move xxx or WiiQWERTYYUIO and I'm impaired.

A bigger question is... Will we still be warmongering for consoles? Or some will get wiser? Or there will be a monopoly?

So many variables. Assuming I am alive, have funds and gaming still appeals to me as it has my whole life thus far then I see no reason why not. If anything being elderly could mean more free time. Honestly the era I am not sure about is the possibility of a business, a social life and addition of children in the next decade. I have no idea when I'd find time given constraints I already have.

If Nintendo's still around, I fully expect to be playing Mario Kart 22 with my kids/grand kids. (Kicking their butts while I'm at it)

Otherwise, I'll be gaming less due to more responsibilities and being wiser, but still going at it.

I think I will game as much as arthritis will allow. This is probably the source of motion controls. The Senior movement.
