is there a LINK to DYNASTY WARRIORS?
DerNebel said: No. but I expect everyone to like the gameplay of the LEGO games, when they get excited about them. Again, people are not excited about the gameplay, cause I have not once seen so many people collectively get excited for a Dynasty Warrior game, but instead they're excited about the Zelda coat and that is, in my opinion, a very weird thing. If you like Dynasty Warriors and are excited about this game then that is fine. If you like Zelda games and don't have an interest in Dynasty Warrior games and are excited about this game, then that is strange, cause this game doesn't seem to have much in common with Zelda from a gameplay perspective. |
A lot of people have no interest in the LEGO games until one is based on an IP they like; Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Batman, etc...

Heihachi.
I know it works.. its just a little sad to see Nintendo subject one of their big franchises to this. I can't tell if its a brillant move by Nintendo.. or a horrible one (Not a fan of Koei games myself so I don't have high hopes for it).
I'm just a little disappointed that they've still nothing to show on the real Zelda game they're working on.

I didn't expect them to show anything on that yet considered they are still pushing A Link Between Worlds, the Wind Waker Bundle is still in stores, Smash and Kart are 1st half year headliners, the Direct was supposed to only cover the first half of the year and we still have a major investor relations meeting in late Janurary that will give us an early glimpse at the end of year releases (happens every year).

Interesting. A first-person shooter Zelda? Maybe not such a smart move. But a game that is basically hacking and slashing through hordes of enemies? I actually think Zelda is a perfect fit for this style of gameplay.
It's all about the game.
Lol at people hyping this. Should have been a launch title. Those games aren't too good. Yes i like them too but really this is not big. I mean how much musou games are there on the vita, when you count anounced ones too, like 4 or even 6?
must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:
WiiU: Donkey Kong
XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

It's pretty obvious at this point that Japanese third parties have absolutely no interest in making games for Nintendo consoles, so right now collaborations like this are about the only way to get more games on the Wii U. I haven't played any Warriors games, but they look like the type of game that can be fun before it collapses under its heavy repetition. Positioning it in the Zelda universe certainly makes it a lot more interesting than any of the other versions, just like all the LEGO games greatly benefit from licenses like Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Batman. |
Exactly. Plus you finally get a Zelda game with zero puzzles and sword combat from the very first minute, just like you always wanted.
Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Dude, give it a try, I never even played a Dynasty game, I only know they are pretty big in Japan, so trying to give players a new way of playing Link and Zelda characters there will help boost Zelda up, on the other hand, Link might help Dynasty games develop a fanbase here in the west.
the only game from Koei I ever played was Mistyc Heroes for the cube and I played that till my thumbs bled. just try it bro, we still getting a Wii U Zelda

The Direct was about next years early releases, not end of year releases. And yes, they could easily release both games in the same year. Why wouldn't they? They've done it with other franchises. A spin off is not a end of year release. Look at WW HD. That wasn't the end of the year either. And that was followed shortly by A Link Between Worlds. Different console but THAT was an end of year Zelda title. |
That's exactly why, you said it well.

Yeah, fuck them. When fans asks for a Zelda, let's release a spin-off. |
God, do you think the development of this title takes ressources away from Zelda U ?
