So I beat Skyward Sword recently and now I started playing Wind Waker HD with the Wii U controller and it just feels like a huge step back for me.  The motion controls on SS/TW felt so natural and intuitive, Wind Waker just feels kinda awkward to me in comparison.  I really hope when Zelda U comes out they have an option to play with the Wii remote + nunchuck, but I doubt they will because I think Nintendo is gonna try to use Zelda U as the software that shows, this is why we made the Wii U gamepad.  So which control scheme do u guys prefer?

Traditional. Skyward Sword's weakest element was its forced motion controls. The lag was too pervasive. I would have to extend my arm, pause, then swing instead of just doing a natural swinging motion at full speed. Then I would point the Wiimote up to fly up and the bird wouldn't go. I would try to bring it back to center to try again and the bird would then respond and go down, the exact opposite of what I wanted. It was a problem with programming because the aiming worked fine with the slingshot or bow (the only thing motion should be used for in Zelda).

Zelda U should have traditional controls with motion for just aiming the long range weapons. They can use the gamepad for puzzles like make things look different when you look through it at the screen. I sincerely hope they don't try to shoehorn it in to every aspect of the game though. Put the map or inventory on there most of the time and you've demonstrated the usefulness of it. That makes accessing those things easier and there's less clutter and scrolling through menus. I don't get why people don't want the gamepad used in this very useful and intuitive way.

I like to try new things. I like motion controls in skyward but classic controls have some advantages. So I'll just try what ever nintendo tries. Neither one is much of a problem for me.

Either, though WM+ is definitely better for bow & arrows.

Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword were good as an experiment, and while I enjoyed them a lot, I prefer dual analog sticks.

Dual analogs without a doubt.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Skyward Sword's beat Wind Waker HD's... Though in it's defense the game wasn't made for dual-analogue on GameCube so the WiiU control-scheme is a bit tacked on. I think if they make a new game with WiiU's controller as the base it would work out a lot better. However, Twilight Princess's and Skyward Sword's gameplay was better than Wind Waker's regardless so I'm not sure if it's the best comparison (even if it's only one right now that can possibly be made).

Still, I think I would prefer the motion control scheme on a new game.

Motion controls are a disease.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when games replace buttons with motion. Instead of shaking this darned thing, just let me press A! When the motion controls can't be mapped to a button or become worse when mapped, then I'm ok with it.

I enjoyed Skyward Sword but motion controls are not the future of Zelda.

Motion controls.
Dual analogue is laughably archaic by comparison, and if Zelda U uses them, it will a big step backwards for the series.
