It's in too many markets to just go away in 10 years. Xbox, Windows, TV, many many books, Megablocks, Action figures. Plus Halo has at least 4 main games left, which is enough to go even longer.
I believe this is what you call whoring out a franchise. It might not be a bad thing, but they should take their time. Don't just jump right into a movie after the TV show. Get a passionate director and a solid script. Find the right cast. As long as you don't rush this it could be great.
