I don't think they're going to update vgc numbers, that's sad though, I always thought this site was reliable as it was constantly updated with official reports.

I think a lot of people on this site are quite pathetic, ioi does the best he can to bring us numbers that we can use as a guideline. So let me get this right, every time there is a descrepency with NPD, he must adjust them close to them as possible? Then it makes what other people say about VGC so more credible (that the numbers are fake and are adjusted when npd comes in.) There has been some cases in the past where VGC proved more accurate than NPD, now i am not saying VGC is more accurate, but some of you are totally shamefull,with you emotional blackmail bullshit

And why have some of you skiped the point that VG has been more accurate than NPD in the past?
Is this about console loyalty again, you shoulb be loyal to ioi, because he has created an excellent site. Microsoft/sony/nintendo agree with NPD, well no shit who else are they going to agree with, they pay a hell of a lot of money for that info. seriously i think its just disgusting how some of you carry on, especially MikeB (judas)

The fact remains the difference with NPD data is quite large, too large. The situation is compounded by the fact not all platforms are overtracked or all are undertracked, when some platforms are significantly overtracked and others significantly undertracked this doubles the inaccuracy for comparison purposes.

The overall picture NPD painted and what VGCharts painted is quite large, the PS3 outselling everything (even handhelds) expect for a few thousand units of Wii or the PS3 lagging behind everything else on the US VGChartz.

so your botomline is, when NPD and VGC numbers show descrepencies, ioi should adjust it closer to NPD?

My bottomline is VGChartz should try to be more accurate as NPD's figures are considered to be by far the most reliable. Prevention is better than curing. This time the difference is too large to not make a correction ASAP, people will come here to look at the figures and compare them with NPD figures and that's not a pretty sight...

But you still haven't addressed the fact that there has been a time in the past where VGC have proved to be more accurate or are just skipping over that.

When was that? I have mainly been tracking PS3 sales and VGChartz had to adjust their figures for significant undertracking before.
