I'm pretty sure Gamestop got their "waiting list numbers" just from how many e-mails they sent out saying "Hey we have X in stock." Its being exaggerated for both the X1 and PS4. People just haven't cancelled their update e-mail after recieving their console already. Plus both have been popping up EVERYWHERE the past 2 weeks, simply following Kotaku Deals or Cheap Ass Gamer on Twitter gets you the update on stock 1st from any store.

Unfortunately PS4 is sold out now on Bestbuy.com 

There isn't enough to be sure of anything, but plenty to talk about it. For example we know that the PS4 sold a million units in it's first 24 US hours, and the X1 sold that amount in it's first 24 world wide hours. Based on that i know the US demand was defiantly higher for the PS4 at launch. And while i have no definite way of knowing if that is still the case, i can, based on those constant sell outs, assume that is the still the case. At the very least it shows us the demand for the PS4 is higher than it's present sales.

So while there isn't enough for me to state much as fact, there is plenty to make educated guesses and assumption (which is what my 1.25:1/1.5/1 was, hence i said "we can guess" in my last comment).

Sony should have to launch in other country's and made sure they had enough consoles for demand here and in the uk

Yep, 6 million is my conservative estimate but if Sony can produce more consoles, we could be looking at 6.5 million easily. Sony know how to make their shareholders happy :)

My local Walmart has 16 ps4's in stock, 9 xbox ones and 0 Wii U's.....
