Forums - Nintendo - Do You Think X,Bayonetta 2 & Other First Party Titles For The Wii U Will Have Great Sales Or Suffer From Poor Sales ?

Tagged games:

Nintendo consoles sell well when Nintendo faithful buy them.....Nintendo exclusive games will do well if "NINTENDO FAITHFUL" purchase them.
Point blank.

There are about 4.5 million Wii-U sold, at least 3 million of those should be in the homes of the NINTENDO faithful, these so if these exclusives do not sell well, NINTENDO FAITHFUL, you guys/gals are MOST to blame......
Keep on Gaming.

I don't know anything about the other titles, but I think Bayonetta 2 will not sell well. Too many people who bought B1 will stick with PS or Xb. But I do think B2 will get a decent number of people to buy a Wii U who otherwise wouldn't have. So while it'll have low sales (because it won't appeal to the general Wii U audience) it will be a low level system seller.

bayonetta 2 will flop, and flop hard. this is a game that sold poorly that it didnt get a sequel. it sold poorly on two systems who are sold SO much more than the WiiU, add to that the fans of the first game are on different platforms.

Bayonetta will flop and flop hard.

X is the game that's making me consider purchasing a Wii U. So i hope that game sells good. However, I also hope that Bayo 2 flops hard both commercially and critically so I can laugh at Kamiya and Kellams for being whiny bitches on Twitter.

Xenoblade had the potential to sell 1.5-2M, if it wasn't for the very limited stock, then X, if manages to be the ultimate next-gen JRPG (like how Xenoblade was the one for 7th gen) has the same amount of potential.

Bayonetta 2 had alot of exposure already, thanks to all those fanboys raging all over the internet, we could see decent sales. (1M+) Wii U has mostly hardcore Nintendo fans at the moment, and this trend will continue. Thus, sales shall be better than expected.

Also Miiverse helps a lot with game exposure and decisions making. (Don't forget there is now potentially 45M Miiverse members now)

The biggest issue facing all Wii U games at the moment is install base and Iwata has already conceded that this needs to improve, quickly.

Super Mario 3D World will do fine in the end but there's only so many copies of Bayonetta and X that you can sell to 5-6 million people. Judging on performance so far, Bayonetta would have to consider itself lucky to crack 500 000, even assuming the install base has grown by the time of its release.

Bayo 2 entered the pre-order charts last week so i believe it will do very well (2-3 Million)
X will match Bayo 2 or surpass it because Bayo 2 will have a wider appeal in NA and EU but will fail in Japan while X will have a great presence in NA ,EU and Japan
The Wonderful 101 is fantastic and i really hope that it will get to 1 Million
Mario did well only 70K behind 3D Land which is going to beat Galaxy one, i can see 3D World surpassing both sunshine and Galaxy 2, possible 8M LT sales
Nintendo could sell The Wonderful 101 using bayonetta 1, get TW101 (applies to owners as well) and gain a free Bayo 1 eShop download code

Duuuuuude what?!!!

Probably. Nintendo could make them sell to a decent sized niche audience if they aggressively add some nice promotions for them though.

Pre-order Bayonetta 2 and get Bayonetta 1 from the eShop for free.

Pre-order X and get Xenoblade HD from the eShop for free.

Also throw in some collectibles for both ... an art book or figurine or something and keep the shipments of the game small so they sell out quickly.

When have Nintendo ever given away stuff for free? No, won't happen. Nintendo is pretty greedy. In to answer OP; both will flop so hard.

how did Ison effect the weather on Mars?

OT: I think they will both surpass the 500K mark which is pretty good for these niche games

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

I hate when people talk about 3D Worlds first week sales negatively.

It's already outsold Galaxy's first two weeks. It has 710k, Galaxy I'm pretty sure at this point had only sold 650,000ish, and that was on a bigger install base.

Wonderful 101 wasn't advertised and all Nintendo did to market it was give it a Nintendo Direct.

ZombiU sold poorly because of it's "sub-par" reviews. It's can actually be compared to DR3 in many ways.

The Wii sold, and it had little to no third party support besides mostly shovel-ware. The Wii U still isn't selling because for many people, it still doesn't have the games to warrant a purchase. It has nothing to due with third parties.

Call it damage control, but we can't say anything yet. We need to wait till we see how the Wii U sells through the holidays and 2014 before we can predict the sales of Bayonetta 2.

It's at 215k end of November in US (so you can't imagine it did more than 40k this week in US)

180k in Japan?

That's 450k~ plus Europe/Other. It's nowhere near 800k WW.
