Nothing beats the battle for the 2nd place last gen.
It was like, being second was more important than being 1st.

What I think is most refreshing about this is that Sony's Vita fails because of Nintendo's 3DS and Nintendo's WiiU is failing because of Sony's PS4. Only in part of course but you get my point^^
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
Interesting to see what the figures are like for next year, Vita had respectable boosts in Japan in particular with price cuts, software (Soul Sacrifice, Toukiden and God Eater 2) and new HW (PSV2K), but still struggled in the west, especially in NA, although EU could've been worse
WiiU however did well with Zelda WWHD and SM3DW, plus it seems to be enjoying a strong Christmas. I think it will edge it in 2013, but there is still a question mark over whether it can maintain any 2013 momentum in the new year once 4Bone get over their stock issues.
Personally, I think both are unlikely ever to take off in any huge way, but they will soldier on and attract a reasonable audience. I expect WiiU to overtake PSV launch-aligned eventually, PSV may do better lifetime though as it should have the usual Sony legs and it has already shown it can survive against its opposition (3DS)

Wiiu is failing because of Nintendo. Nothing to do with PS4 or Sony really.
Same can be said of Vita to a lesser extent.

Did you make a thread about it? PS3 outsell the Wii U bye twice or something like.
The Vita outsold the Wii U all along this year as well...
It should definitely have an overall better second year than the Vita, but I'm starting to get worried it'll never catch up with it...

So much for Japan being "handheld territory". |
The Vita is a problem on its own. Japan is very much handheld territory (did you read the report stating that Japan had surpassed the US in revenue from mobile/tablet content/apps?), the Vita is the problem. Some of it is explained here;
