The problem is that Final Fantasy is a unique case of a famous NES/SNES-franchise switching sides and staying exclusive. |
Off topic, but that is just complete BS. First off, it's Nintendo's fault that the PS1 even exists, since they didn't take the pitch to make a new console that isn't cartridge based. And as a result, FF went to PS1 because what Squaresoft had envisioned for the game wasn't possible on Nintendo's platform. CD quality music, prerendered cutscenes and backgrounds, ridiculous animations, etc. were not possible, at the time, with just 64MB of space, for example. And not that 64MB was the max, but increasing the size available on a cartridge would have driven costs through the roof.
Long story short, Nintendo not having FF is Nintendo's own fault
