Forums - Gaming - Bad sections in great/favorite games...

Xenogears. Disc two. Also the part where they made your gear microscopic and you couldn't see what the hell you were supposed to be doing.

Water Levels... Every game... WATER LEVELS

OMG! Thank you. I was thinking about making a thread to find out whether I'm the only one who hates them. Seriously, the ruin the fun for me.

Edit: Also, most puzzles in God of War or Dante's inferno.

God of War 3 ... while fighting Zeus and it becomes crazy as if Kratos was on LSD or some good Greek ish towards the end.

lol LSD, horrible stuff. Did you know that section took place inside of Kratos' psyche and Pandora was helping him come to terms with his inner demons in order to unlock the power of hope so he could kill Zeus?

God of War 1 = The spinning spikes of misery near the end.
Mass Effect 2 = Scanning planets for materials.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow = Bastard chupacabras stealing my things.
Fable 2 = The final 'boss'.
Red Dead Redemption = Cattle herding.

The Killer Croc/Shark sections in Arkham Asylum/City

Any swimming section in any game ever (especially in The Last of Us, where they killed the flow)

The ungodly boring 2-hour tutorial in Twilight Princess

General RAAM fight in the first Gears of War

Any time anyone ever plays as Meta Knight in Brawl

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

Tag, courtesy of fkusumot: "Why do most of the PS3 fanboys have avatars that looks totally pissed?"
"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

UC2 climbing the train the second time. So dumb.

I love challenging parts in games so the only bad sections I would find are parts that are just boring.

Dark souls Sen's fortress, I could not judge depth correctly for those damn swinging blades.

The hall of records in The Neverhood.

Collecting 1 million coins in Super Paper Mario, shouldn't have to leave the game running for a few days straight with a rubber band on the controller just to pass a checkpoint.

Mario Galaxy - those fucking garbage levels.

The 1 million rubies? You do know you can just 11,000 and talk to a couple of guys right?

Let's take my top 10:

Metroid Prime: The quest for the Gravity Suit. It felt very uneventful compared to any other part of the game, removed from the plot, from the Space Pirates or the Chozo ruins, trekking through the wastes of Phendrana. You also had to deal with pre-gravity suit water physics heavily, which was just an irritant.

Sonic Adventure 2: Route 280 and Route 101, the driving levels. Just plain dull.

Super Mario 64: Dire Dire Docks was a pretty bad level, too much drowning risk and not much to do compared to other areas.

Super Smash Bros Melee: Race to the Finish felt pointless compared to 64's. "Snag the Trophies" too was not really needed at all.

Pokemon Gold and Silver: Pryce and his gym.

Mario Tennis: the volley challenges against the Pirhana Plants

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn: the Grann Desert level with Micaiah's Army (Chapter 4-3)

PSO Episode I and II: The first two areas of Episode II, just "training simulations" the lot of them. It felt like a really cheap way to pad content on, especially when they just as easily could have made them part of the planet's surface and better-integrated them into the plot. Olga Flow was an interesting concept, but half of Episode II was "training mode"

Super Mario Galaxy: Manta Ray Racing, full stop.

Super Smash Bros Brawl: Any "original" boss in SSE. Those robot-y guys and Tabuu were just infuriating at times.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
