Thing is, nobody seems to be making a big deal out of VGC's numbers, but somehow many people are making a big fuss over Pachter's.

Then again, humans are naturally more attracted to bad news, so I guess nothing surprising here.

Those Patcher numbers are likely way too low, but even so the real numbers are not likely to be great either.

VGC has it at 290k for November and that's probably overtracked, and even 290k would be poor.

Neo Gaf is anti-Nintendo? Since when? Mario and Zelda get tons of love there. The only platforms that they are legitimately biased against are cellphone/tablet gaming.

The Nintendo fans on NeoGaf are simply more grounded in reality with regards to the performance of the Wii U though, no offense but there is a deeply delusional sect of Nintendo fans on this site that have been making absurd predictions for the last year+ (Wii U will blow away the PS3/360 once developers get to grips with it, will sell great, low early sales don't matter, Mario 3D World will make everything better just like 3D Land on 3DS, etc. etc. etc.).

They cant make a big deal of VGC's numbers, cause that will get them banned immediately. 

Most of GAF'ers most likely think VGC has a better prediction than Pachter, but they're not allowed to say it. Another reason for making a big fuss over Pachters prediction is the very idea that his numbers might be right cause if, and i say if, they are then it would mean the WiiU could end up down YOY - and in business terms it would mean that they would have no choice but to discontinue it.

I, however, can't believe those Pachter numbers. They just sound flat out impossible.
