Forums - Gaming - Can't decide between a PS4 and an XBone

ps4 seems like a better choice 4 me. Is cheaper, more powerful, that issue about second-screen isnt a requierement for the system (so isnt a con) and for the long run, ps4 will have a lot more of exclusive content (in the gaming department).

Plus: The value of psn+ is insane

Fair point, although with all the studios Microsoft is building up lately, I wouldn't say the last bit of this sentence is a certainty just yet.

That is certainly true, but Microsoft's Games with Gold is soon launching on the One, and I'd say they'll be trying to constantly one-up each other there.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

I wouldn't buy any of those right now. Wait till next year, there'll be more games for you to decide. If I were to buy one now, though, it would be the XOne. It has more interesting exclusive games(I'd get one just to play Crimson Dragon), IMO, and if you want to play multiplatform titles, I'd get a PC.

unless he wants to spend twice as much as a console, PC is a bad choice if the reason is multiplatforms.

PC is also twice as useful, since it's not a gaming only machine, so the extra price is justified.

Just buy both,it will satisfy all you need. The xbox one had better launch titles than the ps4 but i hate the xbox live subscription and some of the games that run 720p instead of 1080p like most PS4 games does. Also i can see that as times goes on,a lot of games gonna be shoehorn along with the kinect which ruin the experience. If i have to choose one console i would have to go with PS4 cause i will always support Sony in every way. You can tell by looking at my sig. Either way some of the games in xbox one gonna be ported to PC later so i don't see much point in buying it. In terms of online, can't say though but Microsoft console tend to have better online functionality cause you need to paid them.

You have to pay for online with the PS4 version of PSN, too.

I prefer the simplicity of gaming on a console, and for other functions I already have a PC that suits my needs.

This is pretty straight-forward actually. Which console will your friends and family have?

Wait.

Theres no rush. Most games out are average at best. Wait until the decision becomes clear to you.

They're actually relatively split lol.

Wouldnt it be safe to assume he already has a PC that can do everything else apart from gaming, or am I thinking too much?

My advice: don't buy either one right now. Wait a little for a price drop and/or better libraries. There are plenty of games to play on X360, PS3, and Wii U.

It sounds like Xbox One is the right fit for you, but I can't in good conscience recommend paying $500 for a console.
