Forums - Gaming - Can't decide between a PS4 and an XBone

I wouldn't buy any of those right now. Wait till next year, there'll be more games for you to decide. If I were to buy one now, though, it would be the XOne. It has more interesting exclusive games(I'd get one just to play Crimson Dragon), IMO, and if you want to play multiplatform titles, I'd get a PC.

go with the console that has a price that works for u, features that u want, online functionality that suites u, and the games that u want to play.

for me, it was the ps4, but you might like what xbox has to offer. I would suggest that you try both consoles out in a store, and see what the controllers feel like, and how the os handles

On the one hand I thinkt he PS4 also has the game DVR.

But one big pro you missed, IMO, is Titanfall. That's the game that makes me willing to Jump In this generation.

He could just play that on his 360.

My advice is wait.

But if you absolutely HAVE to buy one: I think the systems are so similar, you won't be disappointed by either. Really it comes down to: does 100 dollars make a difference to you. 2. Do you care about the disparity in resolution for a few launch titles.

Otherwise-- just flip a coin and buy whichever is available. Honestly if you hype yourself up too much, you'll only be disappointed.

surely what matters is which GAMES he most wants to play that will be available in the first 10 months or so....

I don't believe launch games are a good reason to buy a console. And I just figured that 90 % of the games people buy are on both consoles either way. Again I'd just recomend he waits -- though it sounds like he wants an Xbox One more than a PS4.

PS4:

Pros:

  • Automatically records the last fifteen minutes without needing to have a PS+ subscription

I did say the bolded :P

Titanfall isn't really a big deal for me at the moment.  Outside of Halo, I'm more or less sick of first-person shooters at the moment, as I think this past generation was way too oversatured with them.  I only put down Killzone for the PS4 list because it's already out.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

ps4 seems like a better choice 4 me. Is cheaper, more powerful, that issue about second-screen isnt a requierement for the system (so isnt a con) and for the long run, ps4 will have a lot more of exclusive content (in the gaming department).

Plus: The value of psn+ is insane

unless he wants to spend twice as much as a console, PC is a bad choice if the reason is multiplatforms.

Wait until at least next year. There is no reason to buy the new systems right now, there are not enough good games to justify the purchase.

Just buy both,it will satisfy all you need. The xbox one had better launch titles than the ps4 but i hate the xbox live subscription and some of the games that run 720p instead of 1080p like most PS4 games does. Also i can see that as times goes on,a lot of games gonna be shoehorn along with the kinect which ruin the experience. If i have to choose one console i would have to go with PS4 cause i will always support Sony in every way. You can tell by looking at my sig. Either way some of the games in xbox one gonna be ported to PC later so i don't see much point in buying it. In terms of online, can't say though but Microsoft console tend to have better online functionality cause you need to paid them.

wait until the end of next year. Or get Xbox One for now since PS4 doesn't have good games atm.
