Wait... So you're mad because they wanted to do something other than Halo, cattering to a broader audience?

You wanted to continue your gaming life, and in 30 years, play Halo 23 still being made by Bungie? Really guys... This is some real childishly entitled behaviour.

No, when did I say that I didn't want them to move on to something other than Halo? I was perfectly fine with them handing Halo off to 343i and using their creative talents on a new series. What me and so many other Xbox fans are mad about is Bungie snubbing them by making PS4 their primary platform, and they have every right to be mad at Bungie after supporting them for so many years.

This silliness really needs to stop. People acting as if they're so personally offended by Bungie's slight shift towards the PS4 for one damn game. If something like that pisses you off so much then don't you dare buy Sunset Overdrive by Insomniac considering the many, many years and title after title that PlayStation fans spent supporting them only to watch an exclusive be made for the X1 after they ended the Resistance franchise and kept giving them now half-assed Ratchet & Clank games. How about boycotting Titanfall since millions upon millions of PlayStation fans supported EA and the original Infinity Ward team just to watch a console exclusive deal get made? How about the Metal Gear franchise going completely multiplatform now? Will you refuse to buy Final Fantasy after the ridiculously long and successful history it had with Sony? Stop acting like brats. At least you're still getting the damn game which is more than can be said for the first two examples. If you loved Bungie so much then shouldn't your loyalty be more for them than Microsoft? Afterall, Bungie is probably the only reason Microsoft is even still in the game.

Those are all poor analogies because none of the developers of those games were ever 1st party Sony studios. Bungie was 1st party Microsoft, and they purposefully seperated from Microsoft and are now snubbing all of their Xbox fans, who they owe much of their success and popularity to.

Bungie was 1st party??? I thought they were alwas 2nd party??

OH LORD!

So it really does seem like Bungie coudn't wait to get away from MS and Halo

also, doesn't MS owe much of their success and popularity to Bungie?

No, Bungie was 1st party, Microsoft bought them and absorbed them into Microsoft Game Studios. Yes, Microsoft owes much of their success and popularity to Bungie, just as Bungie owes much of their success to Microsoft and Xbox fans, it was a mutually beneficial arrangement which Bungie decided to end because they became popular and wanted to go multiplat. That's all well and fine, I can deal with multiplat, but snubbing your fans on Xbox, who you owe much of your success to, by giving PS4 owners exclusive content and earlier beta access, that's just low. Like I said, I don't hate Bungie and I will still by Destiyn, but they are no longer my favorite video game developer.

That would be the same reasoning a Sony fan would be angry with SE and Konami. It does not matter that they were 3rd party because the Sony fanbase made 3D FF popular, SO popular, and made MGS popular. And then FFXIII comes out with exclusive advertising for the 360 version, SO4 comes out on the 360 with no release for PS3 at first etc etc.

But all those franchises started on Nintendo platforms... What's the deal?

Final Fantasy was popular on the SNES, even if the console market wasn't as big as it became with the PS1. People find all kinds of reasons to get mad at nothing. Those franchises are from third party devs. They're free to make the business decisions that make the most sense. And going multiplatform is a sound business decision in these days and age. This sense of self-entitlement prevents a lot of console brand loyalists to be logic and reasonable when discussing these matters.

Nintendo has not had a 3D FF, or 3D SO, and I did not think MGS started on nintendo or became popular on it.

Final Fantasy and Star Ocean are franchises. 3D Final Fantasy and 3D Star Ocean are not.

As for Metal Gear Solid, the line is thin. If there is one.

Either way my original reasoning was that sony fans would feel burned in the same way that he did when bungie gave exclusive content to PS4 version. As Nintendo fans would also feel burned and still do that FF7 was not on a nintendo console.

But that's the thing though. The whole point.

People who are mad weren't Bungie fans. They're MS fans.

If they were Bungie fans, they would follow Bungie on whatever console they make games for.

I was a fan of both, but I'm not going to abandon the Xbox to follow Bungie to the PS4 when there are other Xbox exclusives that I like.

Bungie isnt going to the PS4. You can still play their games on Microsoft products.

Whatever Sony gets exclusive is timed from Bungie. Don't put too much thought into it.

Bungie tried to show Xbox division that they were nothing without them.
MS dropped Titanfall on their heads then gonna stomp them with Halo 5.

Microsoft owes its gaming life to Halo. Without Halo:CE the original Xbox would have done far worse. And without Halo 3 the Xbox 360 wouldn't have made as big a splash.

Since you're excited for Halo 5 I assume you enjoy the series? Has Bungie become an enemy now that it doesn't develop exclusively for Microsoft?

I think you're assuming too much here buddy. Microsoft owes much of their success in gamingindustry to Halo not to Bungie, as 343 showed they're a capable studio.

I didn't like Bungie's attitude earlier this year, when they snobbed Xbox and their fanbase on the platform with their clear change of camp.

I hope they're successful everywhere else.

Didn't 343i make not only the lowest selling halo game of the generation, but the lowest rated one also?

It happens when its the 5th Halo in the genertion

Damn this!
