Well, I for one find it incredibly difficult to argue against the facts put forward by Metacritic.

Can we have a sales comparison?

That wouldnt fit the agenda as gt5 has out sold 3 and 4 combined. with  gt6 the two combined  will out sell the whole forza franchise..  ther is no competition, the players gave have spoken.

lol ok. We got it. GT sells very well. Doesn't make it necessarily the better one though. That you can't even consider that possibility amuses me.

Like saying Call of Duty is better then Battlefield because of sales alone. Try saying that in a FPS thread and not get laughed out of it. lol

We're not talking about shoots where the masses are casual players.

Same principle though. A car enthusiest probably still doesn't have the money to own most of the cars they drive in the game and will never drive them in their lifetime. Shooter gamers won't probably ever fire the guns they like in the game. Just saying your attempted deflection doesn't take away that you are using majority opinion as your be all, end all argument.

We know GT is arguably a slightly better sim, but Forza is a better overall package, hence its percieved better overall critical scores.

Suddenly not too busy for the forums huh? One more reason to like GT reviews

Microsoft smoked sony last gen when it came to exclusive racers.

If you like your racers, the was no better place to be than on a 360.

Forza 2, 3, 4 & Horizon, plus Project Gotham Racing 3 & 4 ALL scored higher than any GT, Supercar Challenge, Motorstorm etc.

Sigh, and then we get a post like this...

metacritic is a broken useless metric imo. Different games reviewed different times by different reviewers, with some arbitrary number score.....  Sorry if I don't put much stock into it.

Gt was by far the most successfull out of any of thoseand it's not close. What do yuo think each compnay would rather have?

Borderline, not even close it was a pure bomb it had a $200 million dollar budget and that doesn't include marketing.  In order to be a borderline flop it would have had to make at least close to $400 million world wide at the box office.

Yeah I changed it to flop. Didn't know it had such a huge budget

Plus the Blu Ray and DVD sales didn't help out much either you can get the extented cut blu ray on amazon for $9.99 which isn't even that much of a bargain since the regular list price is only $14.99.  Ryan Reynolds has been pure box office poison over the last five years two major bombs with Green Latern and R.I.P.D and a minor disapointment with Turbo.

Well if you must know the last week of classes at the University just ended. My job for the rest of the month just got a LOT quieter. Thank you for asking, I greatly appreciate you noticing :)

Driving enthusiasts disagree, clearly. The reviewers simply do not represent the driving community. And why would they? I mean, driving sims are probably some of the least "gamey" games out there, so game reviewers should mostly not be fit to review them.

But alas, GT is a video game, available for a video game console, and is therefore bound to certain criteria.

Being more boring and grinding then Forza will reflect in its scores.

Why is someone called sales so against an additional comparison using sales?

By all means, gloat that less than a hundred people came to the combined conclusion that one series is better on Metacritic, but at least show us how MILLIONS of other people have voted with money.

If your only gauge of what ended up being better is Metacritic then sure, Forza did better during the 7th generation. Actual sales tell us a very different story. I don't think Sony will care about Forza scoring higher if it takes three of them to sell more than a single GT game.

You simply can't say that anymore with the absence of content in Forza 5. GT6 has like 5 times the content, or more (tracks, cars). Add in that GT6 will allow you to create your own tracks in various ways and it gets worse

Not to mention the various weather effects, astronomy, moon driving etc.

You are right. I cant speak for F5. I am speaking about the 7th gen Forzas and GTs.

Lol. That's called back-pedaling.

Technically no since the thread title totally changed :P
