Nintendo 1.8 million consoles this week, Sony 1.7 million consoles this week. How does that equal one thriving and the other not?

One is overtracked and one is supply constrained?

In fairness that alone has little to do with the long term health of either in the console business, maybe if you live in a  bubble.

Iwata (laughs)

Everyone (laughs)

because he led the company to the most successful generation in the history of videogames?

And the same guy who came up with the Wii U after their most successful console. If past achievements mattered, Ken Kutaragi would still be head of SCE.

here's an important current achievment

3DS

"Sony thrives, Nintendo doesn't" that should be the new name for the playstationnation thread

Nintendo is thriving just not on the console front, just as Sony is, but not on the handheld front.

I wanted to say that.

Although... his idea is not half bad. Developing exclusively for mobile, never. Putting games like Super Mario World or Mario Bros 3 in the App Store and flood them with 3DS ads and videos doesn't seem like a bad idea.

Exactly!  Exactly.  The only problem is dealing with control methods in order for people to experience those games in the same way on all platforms.  Maybe Nintendo would have to put out an officially licensed controller shell for Android and iOS, and mandate it be installed before any Nintendo games can be installed?  I don't think 3DS or Wii U would be impacted, unless people buy new consoles to play old games?

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Fixed it!

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.
