Vooks, its an Australian based site. Its good to recieve news thats relevant to my country
Brazil can be number 3.
Fanatismo não leva a nada, apenas a colecionar antipatias.
Collection: Telejogo Ford-Philco, Dactar, TV Game 2600, Master System (2x), Master System Portable, NES, Dynavision 3, Mega Drive 3 (2x - Tectoy and Show Do Milhao Edition), Genesis 3, Genesis Arcade Motion, MD Play, SNES (2x), Super Famicom, Neo Geo CD, 3DO, Saturn, Playstation, Nintendo 64 (2x), Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Game Cube, Xbox, Zeebo, Playstation 3, Xbox 360 (Kinect Bundle), Wii (2x - White and Red), Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, DS Lite, 3DS, Vita, Wii U, Playstation 4 and Xbox One. Around 800 games. Preferred Generation: 16 bits.
UK is around third or fourth, but it does make up a very small portion of the total sales. US is far larger than everywhere else, and then each country remaining makes up a small piece. So any one country outside of the US (or maybe Japan) is almost a non-factor, but added together and they are significant.

UK, USA, Japan. Others don't really compare to those 3
Xbox Series, PS5 and Switch (+ Many Retro Consoles)

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030
1. US
2. JAPAN
i wonder when will UK release their own console????
Virgin Gaming Console??? anyone????

I'm not kidding. It has been reported that the Brazilian market is the world's fourth (use a translator): http://oglobo.globo.com/tecnologia/brasil-ja-tem-mercado-de-games-maior-do-que-reino-unido-alemanha-espanha-10529533
The information is not as accurate as it puts France above the United Kingdom, but it is a reference to the colossal size of the Brazilian market.
Not only video game we paid a fortune, everything here is much more expensive. We are not accustomed to paying only the most expensive video games, but cars, clothes, perfumes, any technology product, etc.. The average Brazilian income has risen and we live in an absurd consumerism. In fact, Brazil inflates the numbers, especially of the U.S., Mexico and other countries, because our consoles and games are in big part imported illegally from there. Remember the Master System and Mega Drive? So they were selling on average (combined) 150 000 per year (http://jogos.uol.com.br/ultimas-noticias/2012/07/30/vinte-anos-depois-master-system-e-mega-drive-vendem-150-mil-unidades-por-ano-no-brasil.htm). And they do not sell anywhere close to the new generation consoles.

I believe right now it's like this:
Handhelds:
Japan
USA
UK
No idea, probably Germany ;)
Home consoles:
USA
UK
Japan
Brazil
Brazil can't be on top of UK right now. They may have been buying more consoles recently, but that is because the gen is ending, so consoles are cheap and the UK market is already saturated with them. When new expensive consoles hit the market, UK will skyrocket again, while the sales of next gen consoles in Brazil will be rather low, probably won't be able to compete with Germany, France, maybe even Italy. Though they probably will get ahead in the future, as they are the only sensible country out of the BRICs with a real chance of becoming a truely civilised country. Though a hell lot has still to be done there.
Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!
My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/
My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

It's a bit like the size of the economy. For a while there California had the 3rd largest economy in the world, behind USA and Japan. Of course now it's USA, China, Japan, not sure if California is 4th or if Germany or the UK has gone ahead, but still the fact that one state of the USA is in the top 5 or 6 economies of the world shows how huge the US economy is.
