Don't argue with people about sales on sites other than VGC or NeoGAF. Maybe 1% of posters on other sites have any idea what they are talking about. And I think UK is 4th biggest single country market for video games overall revenue wise after US, Japan, and Brazil, although same as US and to a lesser extent Japan, it's sales a bit inflated due to a lot of people importing from those countries.

this was the one I thought may have surpassed UK when I was having the arguement. But he was clearly a clueless fanboy so it didnt really matter.

I think there was an info about it a couple of months ago, but it's all very dynamic, now with the start of the next-gen I wouldn't be surprised if UK would surpass Brazil at the end of the year, a lot of people rushed to shops, and Brazil barely got any official shipments. But as you say, even if it is 4th not 2nd or 3rd, it's still a huge market and dude was clueless.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

In my opinion it's,
1. USA
2. Japan
3. UK
I could be wrong of course.

I think that makes sense.

Of course if you're talking Wii U specifically then at the moment everywhere is irrelevant.

Sorry, the voices in my head told me to do it!

It's scary out there. Even people otherwise well informed about tech think that:

- The Wii was a fad
- It sold badly and lost money
- It died because everyone hated Wii Sports
- The PS3 and 360 were successful from day one and made lots of money

They also don't respond to, for example, NPD sales figures or financial statements proving otherwise.

Are you considering number of consoles sold ?

Clearly USA first Japan second. Not sure if UK is third or fourth. You know, Germany and France are countries were consoles sell a lot too.

Edit: Forget it. UK is really 3rd place.

I´d say that even on NeoGaf most users don´t know anything about sales, and even less about business and economy in this industry. The only place around the internet I could find people who seems to be aware of these things is on Vgchartz

If it's console sales... i think the order is....

1.-USA
2.-Japan
3.-UK
4.-France
5.-Germany
6.-Canada
7.-Spain
8.-Italy

The Xbox 360 outsold the Wii in the UK.... OMG, that means the Wii was a total failure! Nintendo's doomed!!!!!!

It may be accurate that the WiiU is failing, but using numbers from the UK to express this fact is cherry picking.

Are you talking about MyNintendoNews? That site has been known to be a horribly biased site amongst Nintendo fans for a while now. You'd see them repeating the phrases "Nintendo should go 3rd party" and "Nintendo will go bankrupt" a lot.
