Don't know if you've noticed, OP, but the Nintendo diehards have been utterly crazy over the past few months and weeks, more crazy than I've ever seen anyone else be in here.
You need to visit the different threads yourself to believe it.

Overconfident Xbox fans that were sure the 360 would be in second place with a good lead before the gen ended.  Misguided Wii fans that argue about how great the Wii library was compared to the PS3 or 360, so they argued that the Wii dominated in sales charts.

This gen, the PS4 is going to have the sales and the games.  Not much to argue about. 

No, that's not what I'm suggesting at all. I said that because Nintendo fans and (partially) Xbox fans were winning, many of them became overconfident and thus misguided with their arguments, even those who were otherwise reasonable.

yeah im with you jay i would debate against 360 fans 80% of the time 10% wii fans and the remaining 10% my own PS fans from 07-10

i never really cared for debating with nintendo fans about sales b/c one there console was dominating and 2 there console target was totally different than 360 and ps3. now with the drop off in MS vs Sony sales debating in recent yrs im forced to debate with nintendo fans atm, but believe you me if the MS vs sony sales debates rises up i will be forced to go back to my old ways and defend them aswell

i dont think PS fans will have much sales debating as we did last gen in the same way the sony and MS fans didnt against the wii b/c of its sales dominance. PS fans arent going to be on the defense this time around that was why i joined here ps3 sales sucked in 07-09 i felt i had to defend it and give hope to its future

I don't usually get as much stimulation from debates with the extremely unreasonable fans. Primarily because I don't usually have to present evidence to disprove what they're saying, so it really isn't argumentation. Further, if I did present evidence, most of the time it would be useless since they wouldn't consider it. I prefer arguing with users who aren't completely absurd; they needed to be somewhat reasonable. 

The extremely unreasonable fans are still rather amusing though. So they do serve a different value to me.
