I don't think I've ever seen a JRPG that VGChartz hasn't massively overtracked in the USA in the first few weeks. P4G has been adjusted down more than once :P

Not tracking digital is bound to cause some problems in the 8th gen, a lot more so than in the 7th since this is a more viable alternative for purchase than before.
If consoles start following the PC trend, a significant portion of games will become digital sales.
I can only speak for myself but I buy almost all my games on Steam or GOG, I bring home some gems from the bargain bin at Gamestop some times.

Is there any hope for vgc getting digital sales in the future?
I mean, is there anybody looking into this? Has anyone called Sony and tried to negotiate some kind of deal?

About the digital sales vs physical

What's done in the music industry now? Do sales reported count itunes/online portals & physical copies?

I heard the billboard company or whatever its called combines even youtube video views in its rankings

Charttrack/GFK/NPD will have to adapt & include digital sales this gen but it's not gonna be easy as we never get concrete digital sales figures in the VG gaming industry
