i would most ps2 third party games skipped xbox/GC, some third party exclusives were funded by microsoft, some because the xbox hardware was extremely developer friendly, then nintendo did an horrible design on the console, how cool is a purple lunch box, but the gamecube got many resident evil exclusives games, and got a metal gear solid remake, third part wasn't great but it wasn't that far off from the xbox.

GCN was also held up as being easy to develop for. It still had the worst third party support of the three, and the main reason was that thid parties turned their backs on Nintendo with the N64.

Third parties tried to work with Nintendo, but Nintendo doesn't work with them. When Nintendo opens their minds they'll be there.

Do tell, how did third parties "try" to work with Nintendo? By skipping their systems when it comes to multiplats? By delivering cheap, lazy ports? By providing mostly shovelware?

to be fair those shovelware games were profitable and they sold. And alot of the WIi U ports havent been lazy

The Wii had a shit ton of support but no one respected the hardware. They thought it was cheap last gen tech and dove in for a quick profitable buck. He who has the third parties wins if you have their prime franchises. Nintendo never properly prepared anyone for the Wii U outside of their own company and first party developers. Hell, even Platinum Games is going to get Bayonetta out in 2014 because Nintendo published the game around 2012. It would've been out earlier if Nintendo had planned ahead and just let everyone know.

So you're saying Wii didn't have the worse third party support of the 7th gen trio?

"worse" is a subjective word. It had DIFFERENT 3rd party support and BTW your statement of Wii getting the least 3rd party support is factual wrong, last I checked Wii had more games than either PS3 or 360 now unless Ninty made up the difference but somehow i doubt that.

Worst quality and a lack of key franchises, but the most support. Yes.

And you say support like Just Dance and Cooking Mama, (nothing wrong with those games in my opinion, btw) are stronger third party support than GTA? Assassin's Creed? Mass Effect?

Don't get me wrong, I think Wii's third party offerings are underrated, as we did get some good stuff like Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Goldeneye 007, Little King's Story, No More Heroes 1 & 2, Red Steel 2, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, etc, but even I'll admit PS3/360 had it better on the third party front.

(It was the first party software that tipped the scales in Wii's favour overall, in my opinion)
