Forums - Gaming - Enough with WiiU being Discontinued...WiiU doesn't need a large install base to succeed!!!

Keep lying to yourself. The Wii U needs a large installed base to succeed, because Nintendo decided to sell the system at a loss.

Also, the Wii had no problem. It had a healthy tie ratio and plenty of accessory sales (especially to the people who played Wii Sports and Wii Fit). The financial reports don't lie. The Wii printed money, the Wii U burns through it.

What are you talking? You understand not how Nintendo works.  You have a System the maybe make maybe 30 Dollar lose and?   Then you have the 1.Party Games the sell very well and a lot of another thinks then you must calculate. Nintnedo is not Sony ore Microsoft. They must sell realy much to keep his invest alive. I mean Sony doing very well with the Playstation 4 and i hope they will survive but the Xbox will doing bad.  I came from Austria and Europe is in Playstation Domain. America will became the same and from japan we will not talking.

Nintendo will be fine they will be always fine.

And they Points are not bad.

1. Nintendo 1st party software sales

thats true

2. Nintendo Eshop sales (Retail & indie)

They will be profitable. I have heart then the developer from Giana Sister have saying then his game are selling better by the Wii U then the PSN. Thats crazy.

3. Virtual console on Eshop.

I have given  a lot of Money in this Point i belive they will make not big but good money.

3. Nintendo royalties from 2nd & 3rd party games sales.

With the Basis jes.

4. Nintendo WiiU accessories

Realy? Are you talking abut the Wii U Trainer board.

5. Others (merchandise, toys, candies, etc.)

Thats have not to do with Wii U but jes Mario is the most Popular Fiction Figure in the World, not Mickey Moue (evryone has forgetten this guy^^)

People they hate in the Internet thej have all small pe.....

"The most important aspect is that Nintendo makes their own games, instead of getting a royalties like Sony and Microsoft, Nintendo take in the full revenues after paying of retail cost."

I'm not sure I understand this part

I think (Read hope) he means most software sold on WiiU is first party thus Nintendo get more money than MS and Sony because most games on their system sold are third party? Not taking into account that MS and Sony first party games may/will sell on par with WiiU first party games this gen because the install base will be much higher than WiiU.

Only Gran Turismo, if the sales of their first party PS2 games are anything to go by.

Have we yet to see any huge first party system sellers on WiiU? If the install base isn't over 10m by the end of next year (yes it is a possibility) how are you expecting there to be 8m+ sellers on WiiU?

Fact is there are 12 first party 7m+ sellers on WiiU, mst of which heavily bundled and from casual genres that aren't going to be nearly as successful this gen (Wii Party, Wii Fit.)

Soooo:

Haha it's funny how the battery is also dying.

Success for Nintendo with the WiiU is making a profit and keeping shareholders happy. I'm not comparing them to the competitions. This next-gen is Sony's to lose, Nintendo will simply be a byproduct doing their own thing like always.

It's not as easy this time around tho. If WiiU continues to sell as much as it is (in the middle of the year) it'll be completely removed from store shelves world over. Why have WiiU hardware and software take up a shelf when you could have PS4/XB1 games there?

I think you just need to understand business

What matters is the here and now. And the here and now tells me that the wii u is selling poorly and at a rate that even if it was to double would still make 24m a struggle.

The only thing in the wii u's favour is that the future is unknown and strange things can happen.

Come on... You really think Nintendo would let one of their 2 major products get taken off shelves? This is ridiculous. It's called: buying retail shelf space. And if you think Nintendo won't do so, then I don't know what to tell you.

Predictions for LT console sales:

PS4: 120M

XB1: 70M

WiiU: 14M

3DS: 60M

Vita: 13M

That's a fantastic way to lose money. Are they doing it right now?? Several stores in the UK have taken it off shelves.

A few supermarkets in a single country taking them off store shelves is not exactly what I call *completely removed from store shelves world over*. I will return it to you, so you think that Nintendo will let 1 of their 2 major products get completely taken off store shelves without doing anything? You are kidding yourself if you believe that. If it gets to the point where every single stores are taking them off their shelves, then yea, Nintendo will most definetly buy store shelf. If you believe otherwise, then I have no clue what to tell you.
