The original Renegade was a decent game, it was a cool concept but could have benefited from some additional time and tweaking. The same cannot be said for the Syndicate shooter; that was a bad idea through and through.

I never played Renegade, but I played Battlezone to death (I just remembered how fun that game was). I knew C&C: Renegade was a clone but I never gave it a chance, sadly. I think a local mag gave it a bad score and I didn't know anyone who played it.

I was a "tiberium" fanboy ~Renegade times, I mean, you could play as a GDI Infantry, come on...
If I saw it got a 1/100, I'd still at least try it :P

It was mind-blowing for me at the time to be able to run around on foot in this universe I'd only ever seen from a top-down view before.
And the multi-player really was the bees knees. Genuinely one of the best I've ever played.

I was like 10-11 at the time, couldn't give a damn about online multiplayer if I tried =P

I was like 11-12 at the time, it was the game that got me into online multiplayer =P
