Forums - PC - Steam Autumn Sale is live (Nov 27th to Dec 3rd)

Good, good. I was kind of expecting this when there was no weekly sale this week, although at the same time I was kind of expecting this to be later (there were leaks earlier and my memory of them is that this should've started like a week later).

You mean achievements? They've been there for over a year o.O.

I think they've been there for years. A quick check indicates they may have been there since 2007 and The Orange Box.

EDIT: What a ridiculous thing. Skyrim is 7.50€, Skyrim: Legendary Edition (includes all DLC) is 13,60€, and all DLC is 22,50€ total (Dawnguard and Dragonborn are 10€ each). I'm not buying the full game + some when I already own the full game, and I'm not buying the DLC seperately. Thanks but no thanks, as much as I want Dragonborn!

Ah, didn't know that. Is it good? I just read an article criticising it, but it's kinda old already. I plan to get a gaming PC in 2014 and I'll most probably be getting some stuff on Steam (haven't bought a thing there so far), but I really love my trophies, so I hope the achievements system on Steam in good.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

most of my wishlist on sale. but i will only buy most of them with 66%+ on sale which are already i think 5 damn^^

Its decent - even lists when you got the achievement.

You have to be at a higher steam level to see the total # of achievements though.

There's also not many sites that show achivement information unlike with PSN which there's a lot of sites that show achievement info.

Oh and it shows you how to get achievements too via the game's hub in your library (if you click on achievements I mean).

I dont think there's a platinum or anything though xD. But hey its nice collecting achievements lol

To tell the truth, I don't expect just "decent". Valve earns sick money, they should have a system that's absolutely on par with PSN and Live. Can't see a single reason why being inferior is justified. I love my trophies and if their system sucks, I'm gonna be getting games on PS even if just for them and only play RTS and PC exclusive games on Steam.

Rogue Legacy looks fascinating to me.... but with my backlog i think i'll wait.

Damn it!

Lately I've been playing Pinball Arcade. It's free, but only includes one table (the rest are open to try, but you reach the limit too soon)... but it's not on sale either.

My hopes to get a few tables this winter sale are shrinking .

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

My guess is that no one at Valve really cares about Achivements, that is the downside of letting employees work on what they want things that they don't care about get neglected. Also remember while Vavle is raking in the dosh they are still a small company compared to Sony or MS.

You can do things like showcase your rarest Achivements on your profile like this

It's terrible. It's a game by game system and there is no total number quantifying all your trophies. Added to that, all games have completely random numbers of valueless achievements. I've found them mostly useless. There are some cool thinks with achievement tracking (like 10/30 kills required or something), but it's really not fleshed out properly
