You're not alone.
The PS1-era dual stick design just doesn't do it for me anymore.
Right now, 8th gen games just look like more polished 7th gen games.
Not necessarily a bad thing, I do like seeing a more polished BF4 running at 60 fps. But I'm not losing my shit over it.

Welcome to PC gaming I guess, of 2009 :o)

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.
![]()
hardcore dudebros who play the anual recycled franchises be like:
2007: Crysis - oh cool, yep.
2008: Crysis Warhead - okay, nice.
2010: Metro 2033 - not that much better
2011: battlefield 3 - Yeah, can see it looks a LITTLE better
early 2013: Crysis 3 - Boring graphics for nowadays standards
Late 2013: next gen launch games for console, which barelly look on par with those amentioned above and in most cases look much worse running in lower res: OMFG!!!!!! NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEXXXT GENNNNNNNNNN!
UHUHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHUHUHUHUHUH
NENENENENENENEXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXTTT GEN!
It's ridiculous lol.
The gap exists and PS4 runs almost everything in 1080p with AA so aliasing won't be noted like the last gen with 720p upscalled to 1080p with AA.
But the leap is not that big... Killzone makes the gap looks bigger because it is a tecnical archivement (read the DF analysts) but the othes games release at day-one are not that leap... the multiplats ate HD versions of the PS360 games.
So we need some more time
8th gen games look like what we pretended 7th gen games looked like when we had Xbox vs PS3 threads. I think we can all admit we were lying, now.

To be fair, you're comparing late 7th gen to launch 8th gen.
We saw a huge leap in graphics throughout the 7th gen.

Graphics PC of 2007 ? Shadow fall ? Seriousely ? No.
Ok, let's make it that way : I dare you to show me some captures YOU made of your pc running something close to Shadow Fall technical wise. If you succeed to, I'll give you 100$ right away.
Ah and a correction I feel necessary : The guy on first page talking about his laptop running games like Shadowfall was factually lying.

Haha, I love this post, and have to concur.
