Link to the past: rate the year 2001 on a 0-10 scale...one of my favorite years, yet a really sad one.

Fantastic year for me. Had an absolute blast.

Onimusha (BRING IT BACK), Silent Hill 2, ICO, FFX, Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec, and SSX Tricky are some of my favorite games ever, period. On top of that, there were still more great games, like Devil May Cry, Twisted Metal: Black, and Baldur's Gate II: Throne of Bhaal. Really incredible year.

If Capcom brought Onimusha back, I wonder if they would outsource it too.

Do they still have it in them to make a good Onimusha game?

Unfortunately, they'd probably turn it into a Hunter game with crossovers and DLC all over the place.

Man, I had quit gaming by then, only buying the Civilization series on PC...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Fuck, OP beat me to most of them, but I'll contribute some more absolute beasts of that year if I may.

And here's one that set multiple records in 2001.........

...for it's loading times entirely, mind you. Fuck this game.

Holy fucking shit/10

Honestly. I was only 7 in 2001, so obviously I wasn't the biggest gamer at the time. I think I had the n64 and got the gamecube either that year or 02, but I played Melee and Jak and Daxter in that year. Halo, FFX, Sonic, the gba games, Conker?!?!?!? GT AND PGR??? Wow. Amazing year.

Indeed it was a really good but sad and tragic year. The SEGA of old was lost to us forever after that. It really hurts me inside to think about it cause i loved SEGA systems and SEGA games.
Till this day i think the death of old SEGA was the biggest loss to ever hit the games market. Things changed after that, and they changed for the worse.
