The Vita definitely wouldn't make the PS4 any more attractive and if the price isn't right - it could even hurt the sales of the PS4.

The PS4+Vita bundle wouldnt be the only bundle so not sure how it would hurt the PS4 sales...Sony could just release a limited amount for a time before releasing more units while they could continue pushing forth individual gaming bundles like the InFamous and Killzone ones.

People would just opt not to buy the bundle. Eespecially if as the OP said: "So if this is the only SKU available at the time, would they go for it?"

The demand for the Vita isn't very high, I wouldn't expect the bundle to sell if it is above $500 and even then it'd be because people want the PS4 - nobody wants the Vita.

It sold 160000 units last week and you can seriously say this?

Because of Japan. U.S. sales are pittiful and Europe sales aren't all that hot. Sony would be hurting themselves if they forced this as the only PS4  sku.

160,000 people isn't nobody. Doesn't matter what region those people live in.

For one thing Japan's numbers included the Vita T.V. - not just the Vita consoles to boost its numbers. The Vita also hasa low demand in Japan compared to the 3ds. Also I'm pretty sure the OP was specifically talking about the U.S. where the Vita is barely selling.

And? It's a different model of the Vita. Should the 2DS not count towards 3DS sales? Even then, IIRC Vita TV only did 40k, meaning 120k for Vita. Still good numbers.

What does the Vita having lower demand than the 3DS have to do with anything? Either the Vita must be wanted just as much as the 3DS or nobody wants it? That's a false dichotomy if I've ever seen one. I suppose nobody wanted the PSP either, despite selling 80m units, because it had low demand compared to the DS, right?

And he specifically talked about this bundle coming to EU, so why would you assume he was just talking about the U.S.?

I'm not saying that the Vita T.V. sales don't matter. I'm saying that it doesn't necessarily show demand for the handheld - they serve different purposes. Aside from the name and being able to play games, they're completely different products. The same can't be said of the 2ds and 3ds or their sucess in Japan where Nintendo has a comfortable lead. The gap between the PSP and DS and the Vita and 3ds is not at all the same. At least with the PSP you could say it was a sucess - with the Vita it's just another sign of failure.

And sorry, I should've put that I was specifically talking about U.S. Yes it sold 160k, but only 14k in the U.S. It's my bad for misreading the first post; I thought he was asking if the bundle were to be the only one available on black friday in the U.S., would it sell? And that the question about the bundle releasing in Europe was a seperate one.

The 3DS could have 99% marketshare, and yet if the Vita was still putting out numbers like last week it would still negate your claim that nobody wants one. Profitability is what determines success/failure, not marketshare.

Damn, you are a negative person. Go away.

No dude. I own a PS Vita - picked one up in September.

But the thing never ceases to disapoint me sales wise. Back when the price drop was announced for the Vita - I predicted an increase of sales from 9k to 17k - some people said that was pessimistic prediction. I believe the boost it got was to a grand total of 10k for the week the price drop went into effect. Sony needs attractive software before people are remotely interested in the Vita. The demand is not there. A 33% price drop for a product with any demand would've tripled in sales easily.

The Vita definitely wouldn't make the PS4 any more attractive and if the price isn't right - it could even hurt the sales of the PS4.

Well it depends on what the customers think. Just give it a chance and you'll see how everything turns out more or less ok.

If the average gaming customer walks into a store and sees a $500 Xbox One next to a $550 PS4/Vita bundle...

For $50 more you get a separate gaming handheld that can be played away from the house, or used to stream your PS4 games. Both devices will give you PS plus games for the price of one membership.

Keep in mind, it is still an optional bundle, that'll sell better sooner rather than later while PS4s are scarce.

I can see it selling pretty well, increasing the number of Vitas in circulation, while promoting remote play.

It really depends on the price. But the bundle is a really good idea anyway

Prediction: Switch 2 will outsell the PS5 by 2030

How can you even say that ? It sold more than the wiiU last week alone. Europe as well as japan.  The Vita is a great machine with a solid lineup of games. If this bundle sells for $550, combined with the ps4 being in huge demand, plus xmas right around the corner, IT WILL SELL LIKE HOTCAKES.

Especially since most PS4 SKU's are sold out. Look what the amazing thing is. Let's say the bundle sells a million then that means 1 million PS4's and 1 million Vita's.
