Is this the first week that happened?  (Other than That insane week in December)



I am a Gauntlet Adventurer.

I strive to improve my living conditions by hoarding gold, food, and sometimes keys and potions. I love adventure, fighting, and particularly winning - especially when there's a prize at stake. I occasionally get lost inside buildings and can't find the exit. I need food badly. What Video Game Character Are You?

I blame supplies of DS were just less than Wii this week. Next week DS will be back on top thanks to the Cobalt/Black DS.

It's weird how the Wii is selling so much more than usual, yet it looks like a pretty regular week as far as hardware is concerned. Did Nintendo finally increase production?

I don't think so. 450k a week is about right for a production level of  1.8 million a month. I think the Wii is selling this much because:

 1. They aren't stockpiling right now.

2. The supply chain has finally stabilized from the holiday disruption.

The ships are running on time. Expect sales to continue around this pace until either demand starts waning, supply increases, or Nintendo starts stockpiling again.
