The next-gen desperately needs a showcase game, and this could be it. So far the games have looked a little ... underwhelming for the cost and power advertised.

This is one of the most ambitious project coming from MS. But the TV series integration is throwing up warning bells. All attempting to date of this type of experience generally end on the mediocre end of the gaming goodness spectrum. Hopefully Remedy can break the curse. I loved Alan Wake.

dunno, a poor coloured 4 second gif isn't doing it for me so far... but we shall have to wait. Alan Wake was one of the few games that I got for my Xbox which I loved (completed all the DLC also)... so I have a lot of respect for Remedy, but at the moment, not much to see or get excited about.

Infamous is what I am expecting to push nextgen as it's an open world game with visuals to match (from videos that I've seen), and they are the hardest games to make. Not sure if QB is open world or a corridor based shooter (has it been mentioned?)...

Next gen should be more than just more pixels and making it prettier. This is why I feel that the jump from previous gen to this new gen really wasn't as big as last gen was already pretty good. They are only increasing pixel count but until it looks super realistic and you can't distinguish from a movie, it's just a slightly prettier version of last gen.

No. It simply won't happen. The Xbox One is in a completely different circumstance from the Xbox 360. This gens 'showcase' game is far more likely to occur on the PS4. PS4 has the easier development architecture and the superior GPU.

I imagine the Order 1886 will be far more likely the 'showcase' game this generation.

I bought Alan Wake but I still found this funny. And did anyone else think this was a Selnor thread? Also I disagree. KZ has already done it. Along with Ryse the week after. And more to come before QB.

Hell no joke thread? Infamous, Destiny, Witcher 3, to name a few. MLB 14 the show will be amazing.
