People have been expecting the PS4 to blow away the XOne in performance. What I said is that although the PS4 is more powerfull the first batch of games didn´t show any noticiable difference IF you are a ordinary gamer, they only way to tell which is "better" is playing both versions side-by-side and look at minor details in the background.

It´s not like a person will walk into a game store stare at both version and proclaim "Wow, the PS4 version is 225% better than the XOne". And I can ensure you, there will be people that won´t be able to tell current-gen apart from next-gen games.

Microsoft made a decision to sacrifice the GPU to achieve a relative good balance in game performance, multimidia, apps and power consumption.

no they decided to sacrifice the GPU because they wanted to bundle in kinect....which took a further 10% away from the nerfed GPU.

if they want good powerconsumption they can just have a secondary low power chip like the ps4.

Of course you did. Did you laugh during the Killzone DF article when it dropped to the 30s?

Yeap but just checking you know Killzone is v-synced no? So you only note the drops if it goes below 30fps... variable from 30-60 won't be noticiable.

Now 30fps to 20fps is noticiable even for my grandmon.

and away from the pixel counters I think is clear...

For all the simplicity of its mechanics, Ryse’s artistry is second to none. Crytek is home not just to Europe’s best technical minds, it seems, but to some of its finest videogame artists, too. Even with its constant cribbing from Hollywood, there has never been a game world of such striking beauty, variety or detail. It’s a monumental piece of world-building that sets the standard for videogame fantasy in much the same way Gears Of War established its own precedents during the previous generation. Like the first Gears, Ryse is a simple game loaded with small-scale encounters and rudimentary set-pieces with the intention of hustling you towards something beautiful. Both have their own ‘horror’ stage, both have sieges, both have stationary guns of sorts, and Ryse, like Gears, has room to grow if given the chance. The game has a decisive ending, but it also opens the window to something even more fantastical, offering greater scope for mechanical depth and further extraordinary visual extremes.

Best lookign next gen game.  Many agree.

Looking forward to playing this tomorrow. Average review score is higher than most thought here and I guess that makes some salty.

seriously? I mean come on...do you seriously think that anyone would be salty because Ryse scored higher than expected, with 61 META? That's just...god. I usually don't respond to your posts, but that's just so ridiculous...

Well how else do you explain this?

Knack gets low reviews and its "paid off reviewers" or "I've watched videos and its actually really cool... what do reviewers know"  this gets a low score (but higher than knack) and its plain shit, no arguement.

You obviously haven't played knack ;)

So they used FMV sequences for cut scenes after all.

Yes, sad after all. But if you look at current gen games with amazing graphics this is a pretty standard case when using bluray. Now you know why some next-gen games are so big and why current-gen games are so big.

Beautiful game that runs like that isn't impressive in the least.

You know, I can make Skyrim look almost photorealistic with lush grass and realistic textures and running ENBs to give greater lighting, etc... No big deal if if makes the game run at 16fps.

But it doesn't run 16 all the time, at least.

One of them is a 1080p title with quite big areas, one of them is 900p average 25fps on rails game. A few framerate drops here and there should be expected for such an ambitious title. Drops to 16fps is not acceptable I don't care which galaxy you are coming from.

Again, @ethomaz sees issues where there is none.

The frame rate fluctuate between 30 and 24, it never affects the experience. It has a very nice cinematic look and feel, no alising what so ever.

Please, @ethomaz post the full article here, and change the title.

This.

Personally not my type of game but Ethomaz is losing it.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
