The Wii U and PS4 consoles are already out in the wild. The Xbox One releases in just a couple days. The next generation is almost in full swing! Not only are there new consoles, but new IPs as well. With so much new stuff here and incoming, it's impossible to predict how things will play out.

Which is why we decided not to predict how things will play out and instead asked IGN readers to do it for us. We polled over 26,000 IGN readers asking them which next gen consoles and games they plan on owning in the coming years. The results in the infographic below may surprise you (or if you're prescient, they probably won't)!

Sad to see that people aren't excited for the wii-u at all...

Thoughts?

looks about what i would expect from an IGN poll.

Expected

Wii U FTW! ohh wait...

Still better than the survey that IGN was joking about on Up at Noon where only 1% of people said were going to buy a Wii U.

Ohh and of course, internet is dominated by sony fanboys yada yada yada...

IGN confirmed Sony fanboys.

i'm actually surprised people are more excited for Watch_Dogs than Destiny.

The website is currently being sponsored by Microsoft...

The X1 numbers are higher than expected. Wii U lower than expected.

I wouldn't have guessed people are that excited about Watch Dogs. I'm gonna play it, but its not really on my mind.

i haven't expected Infamous3 to be among the most wanted games.

Seems people finally realised the quality of this series.
+ "only" 2 shooters among the chosen 5 and 3 of the games are new franchises and 3 of them are exclusiv.
Haven't expected that at all.

Wii-u is dangerously low, Ninty's got to figure something out to build up hype, or the console is going to be forgotten this x-mas season, with all the hype surrounding the ps4 and xbox one
