The Nintendo fans hanging out on ign prolly bought WiiU last year. Useless survey.

while i understand what you mean in regard to wii-u hardware, this survey isn't useless. 26,000 people were asked which post-launch next gen game they were looking forward to, and fricking Super Smash only got 10% of the vote. I think that this fact is troubling for Nintendo, because Super Smash is one of their biggest exclusives.

Local multiplayer doesn't mean as much to me anymore because all my real friends have grown up.  When we get together its to have a beer and wings, watch the game, etc.  It's rare that we get together and play video games (actually, never anymore).  A little sad, but that's how life goes.  I think much of the crowd in their late 20s / early 30s and beyond has grown up.  I still like nintendo, but they NEED to fully embrace online play, I'm sorry.

That and kids these days, at least in the states around my area (Cleveland), seem to play more Xbox 360 than Wii / Wii U.   So it is a bit of a troubling trend for Nintendo, and trust me I love the company.  Yeah I get they have survived for X years doing things their way, but time are REALLY changing this time around.  Lack of 3rd parties giving a damn puts them in a tough spot.

I know that when I buy a Wii U, that money is almost strictly spent to then have the right to buy NINTENDO games.   Just sayin.

i think ninty's problem is the lack of 3rd party support, if they could figure that out, then they'll be in good shape

Wasn't this poll made pre-180? I remember doing this survey back in June IIRC.

i don't know, if this was pre-180, i think the poll would be REALLY one sided.

Oh and to answer the poll I'll be getting all 3 of them with in a few years.

good for you, i don't have the funds to pick up all of them right now, so i'm picking up a ps4 first, then a wii-u, and then the xbox last

X1 then PS4 then Wii U. Also I currently don't have enough for them either.

Honest question: what is the reason you are picking up the Xbox one 1st?

Well It might change to where I get the PS4 first but I honestly like Xbox more than PlayStation so yeah that's the reason. BUT like I said I could end up getting the PS4 first.

on my poll, 60% of folks will be picking up a ps4, and out of the 300 participants, only one person will pick up a OUYA lol

They should have asked "do you already have a Wiiu" to get some useful info.

The way it is now is well not so good. I mean noone would vote "I want a WiiU" when they already have one

So every Nintendo fan has one now? Is that why sales have been so low?

IGN=Internet=Sony biased

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

IGN Nintendo's... interesting conduct throughout the past generation means that their readership is going to be sparse on Nintendo fans. I recall assessments at one point saying that Wii and DS sections made up 2-3% of site traffic.

The IGN GameCube site used to get the most traffic back in the day ironically.

That one was on youtube. This is another one they did on facebook. It's definetly after the 180.

I would guess that the crowd who regularly visit sites such as IGN and Gamespot are the targeted demography by Sony and Microsoft while most owners of Nintendo's consoles either don't visit gaming sites or are gamers that would rather go to places such as VGChartz, NeoGaf, Siliconera and the such to keep themselves inform about the industry.
