He most likely means 'Publishers' in general will have too many announcements. Since MS will spend most of E3 showing off all of their partners new products, they are going to have to be creative in how to showcase theirs. Don't forget, MS's new slogan is 'why create your own content when you can just pay a publisher to do it for you'

This is why i will not buy a xbox one(for now at least)....It's clear to me that MS will not invest in first parties again....They will focus on try to buy exclusive contents and exclusives third party games which is not the same thing because it can turn in multiplat anytime(Ninja Gaiden & Mass effect were once MS console exclusive,Final fantasy 13 and MGS were once PS exclusive,ETC..... )

Black Tusk
Osaka (Japanese studio)
Victoria (core studio)
Redmond (core studio)
Dakota (Project Spark)
Life London (Cloud XBLA games)

Isn't enough??

Lionhead, Rare and 343 all have solid 2nd teams now too.

Remember when 360 had games like Lost odissey(exclusive),Blue dragon(exclusive),Alan wake(console exclusive),Mass effect(console exclusive),Tales of versperia(exclusive)?

The time passed and they lose exclusivity/abandoned this kind of games and focus on Shooters, kinect and third parties temporary content....

Now 360 don't have nothing and sorry but,in my opinion, MS will do that again with the ONE. like Pjams said the MS's slogan is "why make exclusives if we can bought"

Dude...you explained my 360 experience. Amazing. Thats what happens when your first party is terrible and your dependence on third party is so great. When they want to go multiplat your exclusives dry up.

So you just completely ignore my post about them opening half a dozen new core studios, nice.

They'll have a mixture, as always.

Open more Studios doesn't mean that they will keep supporting multiples genres in mid/long term.

Like a said before, Microsoft had a lot of games that focus on the Hardcore gamers(like RPG for examples) but they just abandoned because the console don't sell very well in japan. And Xbox one is already doomed in japan, nothing that microsoft try to do will change this (Unless that Studio Osaka come with a Genius game).

So again RPG will be something "only third party" in the Xbox;

Note: I know about Fable legends, but i'm talking about mid/long term...

Note2: I'm using RPG genre just as a example of hardcore genre that xbox lack of.....

I wouldn't be so sure about Microsoft not having any 1st party RPG's in the mid-long term. Lionhead's 2nd team is apparently working on an MMO-like game, there's a significant chance that it's an RPG. And then there's Microsoft Studios Osaka, which is working on multiple projects, there's a significant chance of at least one of those projects being a JRPG. Then you've got the other new 1st party studios, like Victoria and Black Tusk (which apparently has multiple dev teams working on multiple new IP's simultaneously), there's always a chance that one of them will develop an RPG. Who knows, maybe one of Rare's 3 dev teams will try their hand at an RPG, sometimes developers like to try new genres.

Like i said, the problem it's not 2014,it's after that(mid/long term).Xbox one will not sell very well in japan(The RPG's home).360 had tales of vesperia which was an amazing RPG and the japanese people don't give a fuck.And then microsoft just abandoned every RPG franchise they had;

cant wait
hope the show black tusks new game at the VGX

This is what happens when you don't have strong first parties.....

Lol, what are you smoking?

You're interpreting his statement completely the opposite of what a logicaal and rational individual would say.

I think you underestimate microsoft's newly-formed studios.  Not to mention 343i, lionhead, turn 10, etc.

Killer Instinct, Quantum Break, Project Spark, Black Tusk, Halo 5, Kinect Sports Rivals, Fable Legends, Crimson Dragon, Ryse, Forza 5, Loco and Max all being 1st party/2nd Party ...

Ignoring Titanfall, Peggle 2, Garden Warfare, D4, Below, Dead Rising 3, Fantasia ect from third parties/indies ...

Their E3 conference was back to back exclusives.

He specifically talks about first party too.

MS has stated and reiterated for years now, it's not smart to invest in creating your own games when you can pay someone else to do it for you; and they have specifically cited Sony as an example of why not to do it.

We're getting a decent Xbone launch of games that runs through 2014, after that  ...

Look, you can read into things however is best for you. I really don't have a horse in the race. I own all consoles and my PC kicks ass. And I'm excited, very much so for the Xbone. I want them all to be awesome, I own all of them, or will soon enough (WiiU launch, I was there, still there). I'm just not going to forget how MS has positioned itself over the last 2 years, I'm not. And my favorite game is Forza, but I am vehemently oppsode to how they treat the loyal fanbase of that game. So please, allow me to be a critical consumer. I am on your side 100%. We're all on the same side.

He doesnt lie, they said it this month , they are going to pay a lot to buy games this generation, they love to do that and they dont see the problem.

And what exactly is the problem?

If last gen is anything to go by, I'm not sure how much of a vote of confidence it'd be buying the system for them. Lest we forget MS still has viable markets in the 360 and GFWL in the first place.

Lifetime exclusive original Xbox games > Multiplatform games "not on Sony hardware".

So you want to just come in and down play on your other accout??? is that it?

Ugh... so glad a lot of this gets further discussed in the XBO Nation thread... Can't have good announcement news without bashing.

OT: I cannot wait to hear what's in store from them. E3 brought the games and I'm looking forward to a lot of diversity. Give me a 3D platformer (Banjo), for the love of all that is Holy... give me Lost Odyssey 2, or a spiritual successor. Hell any JRPG. Also interested in the other games that were announced such as Sunset Overdrive, Black Tusk, and especially Quantum Break.

A lack of brand awareness. Lack of franchise certainty. Zero creativity as a branch.
