Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo commercial dealing with WiiU name confusion - HOT, BUTTERED POPCORN ABOUT TIME

Well, I'm pretty sure the kid in the red sweater was in a couple of episodes of Once Upon A Time last season.

Other than that, I got noth'n.

Around the Network

The Christmas family one was great, the 3DS one with the kids in their environments saying why it's the best and the 1st one explaining why they need to upgrade were great.

The last one explaining why they need to upgrade was not good.

A good ratio, Nintendo's new ad firm is doing good stuff.

Now they need to start showing them in LATAM region also.

I liked. I think this will help a lot.

Going LATAM would be a great move too.
We are stuck with U$ 1800 PS4 (imported) and U$ 1000 XONE (made/assembled here).
Somehow Ninty managed to bring the imported WiiU for U$800, if they make them here the price gap between them could really turn things around.

I'm glad that Nintendo is finally advertising, but the commercials are a little eh. They need to market the Wii U as a console that is meant for everyone. Not family centric, casual centric or "hardcore" centric. Show that the console has something for everyone.

I'm craving a Mario Party game very badly.

They need to bring Mario Party Online U without all this friendcode crap. Get a proper online system Nintendo and I will buy Wii U just for that game.

That Peyton girl has a really strange looking head. Still, if kids like her, I guess that's good.

Wow, the Wii U controller looks massive in the hands of a kid.

My only real criticism is that the girl said "it's a total upgrade" to the Wii, which might still lead to confusion. "Totally new system" might have been better.

If you market only to kids, you push everyone else away. If you market it to older groups, kids will still want it, and older people won't vomit.

I hope you don't have that weak of a stomach.

OT: I didn't think it was horrible. At least there was no dubstep.

Hardcore is already being target with Nintendo Direct..... Casual and family is the purpose of these commercial. Many of the nintendo gamer that grew up in the 1984 and played on the NES, now have kids and will want a familly friendly game console. They can still sell hardcore game to these dad's or mom's when they get a console.

Beside hardcore gamers need game to force a purchase... a new zelda or Monolith soft's X game might move hardcore gamer away from PS4 and Xbox One. True Hardcore Nintendo fans either have a WiiU or are waiting for the right game.
