I don't know if I'm getting too good at these games but Monster Hunter and SMTIV were quite easy compared to previous games, so I'd say the most difficult one was The Wonderful 101.

I got my ass handed to me in the training parts... switched the difficulty to easy and never looked back :D

I only played one SMT game before IV (Devil Survivor), so for me the game was normal difficulty. The first few of hours were insane I'll give you that, but the game gets easier the longer you play, mostly thanks to insane powerful magic you can get and Borrughs skills which help a lot.

With that said, SMT IV is still the hardest game I played this year, while I didn't find the game extremely hard like a lot of people say, I didn't find it easy ither....although the final boss (from one of the endings at least) was pretty lame actually, I expected a really difficult battle, but it was actually very easy, kinda disappointed.

Guacemelee. I had to enlist the help of my 4 year old as a way to revive during the toughest battles.
And Anti-chamber gave my brain a good workout, lovely first person puzzle game.

Try playing it online when it first came out. Constantly being invaded by other people while trying to beat level 4-2. Brutal.
