Gametrailers with spike announced a new PS4 exclusive so Gametrailers is getting paid by sony? I think you are looking to much in it =p.

If I recall correctly, Xbox One will have a similar treatment on Spike/Gametrailers. This is blatantly a conflict of interest.

I know but it is the same thing every generation,  the 6.5 for Ratchet and clank from Gamespot, the 7 for Killzone 2 from Edge?  etc...  Are some reviewers biased? Ofcourse all reviewers are biased their is not such thing as a neutral gamer/reviewer.  Looking so much into all this reviewers/moneyhatted or not is just a waste of your life, enjoy games please..

Again, put the tinfoil hats back on the shelf. This is standard business with any kind of company selling reviews/content. They need to sell advertising to pay for the people and website. Nothing new here.

It is near the end of the end....

I think it has been like this for a while.

That's just M$ doing their job ;)

ign was pro ps4, i guess that increased the price microsoft was willing to pay.
if i were ign i'd be xbox biased from now on, and then start to talk with sony again :D

must-have-list for platforms i don't own yet:

WiiU: Donkey Kong

XBone: Dead Rising 3, Ryse

I can see an Xbox One ad as I type this... Doesn't really mean anything.

Focused ads on gaming sites for gaming consoles out of the ordinary? No.

I usually feel ok with IGN's reviews of PS games, yet I do notice how they more often than not OVERRATE Xbox stuff in comparison.

This kind of stuff makes that feeling even more validated. KZ Shadow Fall is brobably a solid 8 like they scored....But Killer Instinct(with only 7 characters and lacking modes) and Dead Rising(good but c'mon) being rated higher just seems....wrong. I expect Forza to get about a 9 which might just be appropriate.

I wouldn't say they are necessarilly MS biased, but it is clear to me that their Xbox reviewers are WAY bigger Halo/Gears fans than their Sony reviewers are Killzone/MAG/SOCOM fans.   It's crazy obvious when you see:

-EVERY Gears/Halo game get scored higher than a 9 no matter what the consensus is.

-Killzone games commented as "Master of First Person shooters" and "Raching the series full potential" and then it gets an 8...

-MAG gets a 7 for "Hard to use menus" and "Not able to choose the exact map I want to play"  (YOU MEAN LIKE EVERY CALL OF DUTY?!?!)

yea, I would say that is a good discription of how their reviews go.

Its just far easier for any given Xbox game to get an acclaimed score then it is for PS titles. I believe they even joke about it in the podcasts every so often, that they might have rated an exclusive just a tad too high after the hype died.

Considering the fact that they gave Crimson Dragon a 59 and LocoCycle a 52, I'd hardly call them Xbox biased if that's what you're getting at.

You have to wonder how the score would've been if IGN wasn't being sponsored by MS. I mean the deal could be to raise the score by 5 or 10 points. We don't know.

Just listen to how ridiculous that sounds. Anything below a 6 in the gaming world might as well be a zero. Why would MS pay for that?

I don't trust IGN reviews but not because I think they are paid off. Its not bought IMO, they are just one of those review sites who you will never see score too far outside of the consensus, especially when the game is massively hyped. I stopped trusting them after the GTA IV perfect score review in 2008.

Open in new tab to see bigger.

What does this mean to you?

Means about as much as Sony giving away tons of free consoles and games to journalists: nothing at all, unless it influences review scores.

So far it doesn't seem to be. But it will be easier to guage once more reviews roll in.

Yeah man. MS is evil.
