"Come on, Xbox fans...really?
While Sony maintains that the reported problems with PlayStation 4 launch units are rare, it's a little unsettling to see so many ticked off gamers. First it was the "Red Line of Death" and now it's the "Blue Line of Death." Obviously, a few systems do have issues.
But I find it absolutely sickening and embarrassing to see video game communities flooded with Xbox loyalists who are laughing about this. Laughing gleefully as if it's the funniest thing they've ever heard. Really? Really? Either these people have really bad memories or they're just really that stupid. For civility purposes, I'll assume it's the former.
Have they all forgotten that the Xbox 360 may be one of the worstconsumer products to ever be released to market in any category of goods and services? Do they not quite get that the term "blue line of death" is a version of "red ring of death," which wouldn't exist without the Xbox brand? We're talking over a 30% defective rate reported by five major retailers in North America, and it took four years for Microsoft to fix it. First they said they had no idea what caused the RRoD; then they pop up years later, after millions of additional purchases artificially inflated their sales numbers, and said they'd fixed it. "Here's a new system and now it actually works."
But above all else, I wasn't laughing when that was happening. I was disgusted, but I still felt bad for all the gamers Microsoft continued to fleece, over and over. I was a little concerned for the consumer's lack of intelligence - when someone tells me they're on their fifth 360, I have a question concerning potential brainwashing - but I didn't think it was funny. So, they're not only being childish about this PS4 issue, they're being vindictive, too. Listen to me very carefully, Xbox fans- if there's one aspect of game hardware you are never allowed to crow about, it's reliability.
Talk to me after the Xbox One has been out for a week and it has zero reported issues. I won't be holding my breath, though."
